True Story.

@viivhealthcare and @harleyandco invited me to attend the opening night of “As Much As I Can” — a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience where audiences explore the lives of four Black queer men — in Atlanta starring Thee @misslawrence

After the play the producers @createkindly and @sarahhallnyc wanted me to meet @ranadashepard son and his two friends (pictured here).

When asked if the three freshmen @morehouse1867 had heard of Native Son, they said: “We love Native Son!!!”

Pause while I get a Kleenex.

The young man went on to tell me about coming out to his mother — who was standing there nodding in affirmation — and he was looking for something reflective that looked like him and what he aspired to be. He discovered @nativesonnow 🖤

I am so grateful for moments like this and as his mother posted: “When the ✨align.”

Que: Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All.”

The immersive experience was fab!!! Uplifting the stories and conversations of HIV and the Black community is always a good idea. And seeing @misslawrence @jeromelamaar @kevinboseman @pjphoenix @mrdariusbrown @princessjauan all shining bright to bring this work to life filled my cup, reminded me of the importance and urgency of doing The Work, and to remain faithful to The Assignment in service of my community.
