Brook Initiative participated in the Northeast Zonal Sensitization Workshop on Sound Chemicals and Waste Management for Stakeholders in Adamawa State, organised by the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) on Thursday, 22nd October 2026.

The workshop focused on strengthening Nigeria’s framework for sound chemicals and waste management, with particular emphasis on laboratory procedures for chemicals and waste analysis, as well as the safe management and environmentally sound disposal of expired chemicals.

As an organisation committed to tackling the interconnected challenges of climate change and human conflict, Brook Initiative recognises the importance of responsible chemical management, proper waste disposal, and environmental protection in building safer and more sustainable communities.

Our participation reflects our commitment to promoting environmental awareness, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and supporting initiatives that protect both people and the environment.

For humanity and the environment.

9.2 MILLION girls in Nigeria are out of school. 💔

Every girl deserves a seat in the classroom, and rural girls are the ones being left behind the most.

Through our Rural Girl-Child Education Programme, People International First Aid Initiative (PIFAI) is working to bring learning, support and hope to girls in rural communities. But we cannot close this gap alone.

We are calling on the private sector, foundations, NGOs, development partners and individual donors to partner with us:

✅ Sponsor a girl
✅ Fund learning kits
✅ CSR partnership
✅ In-kind and skills support

Together, we can put her back in class and change her story.

“I don’t have to ask how we can partner with you because everything is super clear.”

These words capture the value of clarity and preparedness in building meaningful partnerships.

The ISDI team, led by our Communications Assistant, Amina Hassan, recently visited the Plan International @plan_nigeria Nigeria Kano Field Office for a strategic partnership meeting. The engagement provided an opportunity to explore shared priorities, identify areas of alignment, and discuss how our respective strengths could contribute to a more equitable future for girls and young people.

At ISDI, we believe that building effective partnerships starts with a clear vision, a strong understanding of our work, and a well-defined sense of what collaboration can achieve. We strive to approach every engagement with purpose, openness, and practical ideas for turning shared interests into meaningful action.

We are encouraged by the conversation and the possibilities it presents. We look forward to exploring opportunities for collaboration that advance development communication, amplify impactful stories, and contribute to positive change in the lives of children, girls, and young people.

At ISDI, we believe that meaningful impact begins with clear purpose and grows through intentional collaboration.

Did you know that DKT Nigeria provides training of trainers (TOT) such as nurses and midwives on long-acting reversible contraceptives? This training is 🔑key in closing the access gap.

On #InternationalDayOfRuralWomen, we’re reminded that closing this access gap means investing in providers women can trust. Every trained provider helps more women choose what works for them.

Swipe👉 to see more of DKT Nigeria’s four day cascade Training of Trainers in Kano state, in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Health.

Powering Local Solutions for Children in Crisis

Since 2018, Maple Leaf Early Years Foundation has worked tirelessly to ensure that children affected by conflict and displacement have access to quality education during their most critical developmental years. Through our Transitional and Community Learning Centres, we provide early childhood and primary education, safe learning spaces, and daily nutritious meals for children living in displaced communities.

As pioneers in advancing Early Childhood Development in Emergencies (ECDiE) in Nigeria, we remain committed to sustaining and scaling these life-changing programmes to reach even more vulnerable children.

This week at the **INEE Working Better Together Summit** in Nairobi, Kenya, we are engaging with partners, donors, and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and mobilise support for locally led education initiatives.

Today, we proudly contributed to discussions on **effective levers for shifting power to local communities through localisation**, highlighting the importance of empowering local actors to lead, innovate, and drive sustainable change in education.

When communities lead, children thrive. Together, we can build a future where every child, regardless of circumstance, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
