Some images from last Tuesday’s Ripening:Sisters of the Moon, An Open Rehearsal/Workshop Showing at the 14th St Y in Manhattan. This nascent work is inspired by the paintings, writings, and sculptures of the late great Leonora Carrington. The music for this post is by Meredith Monk (because I adore her!) Just to clarify, all of the music and sound for our open rehearsal was created and performed by Omar Zubair. Costumes from former Ripening incarnations by David Quinn and Karen Young. Dancer/performers are Alicia Dellimore, Colleen Edwards, Rosy Gentle, Joey Kipp, Mary Garrett Turner, Violet Spain, Lucy York, Trevor Vaughn , and me, Vanessa.

ITS OPENING NIGHT! We are so excited to have you joining us on the lawn @longhousereserve tonight for some witching under the moon and stars. A few things to remember going into a weekend of performances and threat of precipitation… We are very hopeful that we will be able to put on all 4 shows! Each day we will be checking the weather diligently and informing our audience if we need to cancel or delay for rain. In the event that we DO need to cancel, we will happily switch your ticket to another evening of your choosing. Just give us a call or send us an email at info@npcowgirls.org As a theater company that routinely performs outdoors, we know that we are in conversation with Mother Nature, so we patiently wait until the last minute and if she allows us we will play! FOR TONIGHT: Rain looks to be starting AFTER we take our bows! We will be starting the show promptly at 7pm so we don’t run the risk of getting wet - PLEASE arrive at LongHouse NO LATER THAN 6:45pm so you have plenty of time to park and get settled in. THANK YOU for your understanding, your willingness to be in nature with us, and your support of the arts! See you tonight… #macbeth #theater #outdoortheater @suffolkecodev @discoverlongisland @townofeasthampton This production is made possible in part through generous funding from the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning.
