“A Body Holds a Body Holds a Body”, the Geo–Design MA Theses Publication 2026, is now available for preorder at the link in bio: https://abodyholdsabody.github.io/a-body-holds-a-body-holds-a-body/preorder.html            We are very proud to have worked collectively on this publication, bringing together the sixteen graduating Geo–Design theses and their entangled urgencies at a time when the ecological, political, and institutional systems we inhabit are under increasing pressure.

Across vastly different scales and sites, the theses trace bacteria, birds, plants, minerals, radioactive isotopes, seeds, oysters, ash, tidal landscapes, ruins, intergenerational memory, darkness, simulations, and gravitational waves.

What connects the works is not a shared subject, but a shared condition: what happens when a living system is abstracted into a resource, a unit, or a baseline?

Taken together, the sixteen theses propose that thinking through scales is not simply a method, but a form of responsibility.

The publication features contributions from department heads @metahaven and thesis tutors @margarida___mendes @vervoz

Vidimo se večeras u Galeriji Rigo! Dora Ramljak: Raspad vremena Otvorenje: 11. 9. 2026. u 19:00 Galerija Rigo, Novigrad Negdje u oceanu još uvijek putuju tragovi atmosferskih nuklearnih pokusa. U izložbi Raspad vremena Dora Ramljak prati radioizotope kroz vodu, vrijeme i različite sustave mjerenja vremena. ---- Dora Ramljak: The Decay of Time Opening: 11 September 2026, 7 PM Rigo Gallery, Novigrad Traces of atmospheric nuclear testing are still travelling through the ocean. In The Decay of Time, Dora Ramljak follows radioisotopes through water, time and different systems of measurement. Moving between the laboratory, oceanographic data, the northern Adriatic and her own body in the water, the exhibition explores matter as a carrier of memory, delayed consequences, and forms of time that resist linearity. Dora Ramljak is the recipient of the Rigo Gallery Award, presented within Golden Watermelon 10.0 – Walking Through Liminal Spaces, a young artists’ programme organized by Association Metamedij from Pula.

Dora Ramljak @plantaasia is a transdisciplinary designer and researcher working across science, ecology, politics, and social practice. Her research-driven practice investigates materials, bioengineering, and human–non-human relations through long-term collaborations with scientific institutions and environmental organizations. Bridging speculative inquiry and applied research, she develops new ways of sensing, learning and engaging with ecological and social systems, expressed through film, writing, and interdisciplinary practice. Reed Cult is a collective formed by Pablo Bolumar @zzzanganito, Louis Möckel @louismoeckel, and Yannis Mantzaris @yannismantzaris around the Binding Reeds project. United by a shared interest in material ecologies, landscape, and situated design practice, the three came together to work between the farmlands of the Netherlands and the Venetian Lagoon. Their aim is to develop an open-ended, non-hierarchical project that can extend beyond its founders encouraging independent, non-profit, local and hyperlocal research, and the free exchange of knowledge between communities working with their own wetland environments. 姜龍王 Patrick (Ming-Chun) Chiang @patrickchiang_ is a Taiwanese artist based in the Netherlands. Since 2016, a relational documentary practice has developed across video installation, film, and public art, attending to how belonging and home are unsettled in an era of planetary technology. Situated between art and technology, the work investigates labor, migration, and displacement as structural conditions of planetary technological systems, asking what forms of belonging emerge when home itself becomes a question. Jasmine Fernandez @_jasm.f is a space researcher and product designer, currently based in Rotterdam. Drawing from everyday gestures, her work explore bodies as spaces that are continuously shaped through memory, automatic motion, and their relationship with their close environment. Through textile exploration and spacial installation, she investigates the negotiation between bodily gestures, technological systems and the impulse for constant optimization of the mundane. Hvala svima koji ste bili s nama i zajedno obilježili prvih deset godina. 💛 Izložba ostaje otvorena do 26.8.2026. -- EN Ten years of encounters, conversations, art and friendships. ✨ We opened AiR Kuberton: 10 Years, an anniversary exhibition celebrating a decade of the international residency programme connecting artists, Istria and the contemporary art scene. The exhibition was officially opened by Dr Ursula Krinzinger, whose vision and support have been essential to the programme from the very beginning. The audience was addressed by Dr. Jerica Ziherl, curator of the exhibition and director of the Lapidarium Museum, and Vladimir Torbica, Head of the Department for Culture and Regional Identity of the Istrian County. The evening continued from the museum into the park with conversations, gatherings and the Arty Party — very much in the spirit of Kuberton: built through exchange, encounters and time spent together. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the first ten years. 💛 On view until 26 August 2026. Foto/Photo: @yeahyuhl

A heart-warming celebration as the Geo-Design Masters 2026 cohort graduates this week, after a beautiful and poetic gathering with performances, installations, cinematic experiments and sonic activations @designacademyeindhoven . Under the guidance of @metahaven as heads of department, and the many tutors @lawoodgate @e__type @parasiteparasite @gabriel.a.maher @vervoz @iraklisabekia just to name a few, we have nurtured the flourishing of critical territorial practices and agentive poetics, engaged in fields spanning from microbiology to physics, nuclear science, or speculative archeology. May Geo-Designers travel wide and find their roots in the manifold dimensions of this ever-shifting world! 🔮🧬

Currently on view at Krinzinger Schottenfeld: Artist in Residence 2025 Hungary / Croatia / Vienna / Sri Lanka In Focus: Sculptures This exhibition brings together sculptural works by artists in our residency program, unfolding across four locations in four different countries. It explores form, material, and meaning across cultures and perspectives, inviting a closer look at how space is shaped and stories are told through three dimensions. Within this framework, Dora Ramljak examines the tension between geological time and human intervention, while Hanna Besenhard works through light, darkness, and processual traces. Đanino Božić translates observations of nature into delicate, denaturalised structures, as Luan Bajraktari reflects on visibility and control in everyday forms. Christoph Raitmayr extends these dialogues into spatial narratives, where collage and object intersect. Showing works by Carlos Amorales, Luan Bajraktari, Hanna Besenhard, Đanino Božić, Selva de Carvalho, Inci Furni, Lorenz Helfer, Panni Marosi, Zoe Miloš, Rafaela Pröll, Christoph Raitmayr, Dora Ramljak, Martin Sommer We are happy to inform you that the exhibition will remain on view until May 13, 2025!
