Tomatoes belong to the nightshade family, which also includes eggplants, potatoes, and peppers and are longevity powerhouses! 🍅There are almost 10,000 varieties of tomatoes worldwide! Seasonal tomatoes at peak ripeness deliver maximum flavor and nutrients for healthy aging. 💖

✨ Rich in Lycopene – helps lower inflammation and protects your cells from damage
✨ Vitamin C Boost – supports your immune system and keeps your skin glowing
✨ Heart-Healthy Potassium – balances blood pressure and protects cardiovascular health
✨ Folate & Bone Strength – supports healthy aging from the inside out

How to get the most nutrients:
🍅 Eat them raw for maximum vitamin C and antioxidants. Yellow and orange tomatoes often have higher levels!
🥫 Cook with olive oil to unlock even more lycopene—the antioxidant linked to longevity. Cooked red tomatoes tend to be richest in lycopene.

💡 Cooking Hacks:
🧊Skin tomatoes by quickly boiling and then putting in an ice bath
🧂Salt tomatoes to draw out moisture and make flavors pop
⏳Store tomatoes stem-side down to extend shelf life. This prevents air and moisture from entering.
🍅Store unripe tomatoes at room temperature and ripened tomatoes in the refrigerator to preserve flavor and texture

Had the best time ever camping in Hathersage last night 🥺 (despite my stove setting on fire lool🙃). Then woke up to the sound of the birds this morning, went for a dip in the outdoor pool and trundled up to Stanage Edge. My cup = Full ☺️🫶
