That’s a wrap!
I don’t need a backyard, I share a park) last weekend with music, performances, poetry, talks and film in Park Sonsbeek, at partner venues and in central Arnhem.

From Çağlar Köseoğlu’s poetry walk and Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure’s sound walk to the Artist Spotlight Talks on Ipeh Nur and Larry Achiampong at Museum Bronbeek, park and city came together one last time.

At the closing celebration ‘Spiraling Out’ at City Hall, buulbuul opened with Nargis-e mastana. After her speech, alderwoman for culture Mounia Arkhouch received the first flowerpot from Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven’s Mystic Hexagram (co-commissioned by Hartwig Art Foundation). 700 visitors took a piece of art home, so Sonsbeek 2026 lives on in homes and gardens across Arnhem.

Thank you to our curators, artists, performers, partners, volunteers, visitors and the Sonsbeek team for 100 days of sharing. Until next time!

Greetings family

So proud to finally announce the TV release of this music documentary I embarked on in 1996.

This legendary Four Aces Club was a big part of my family life, helping my dad, who worked there from the early 80s - 86.

So many great people who I interviewed, including Mr Newton, the club founder, have since transitioned into the spirit world.
Newton Dunbar, Bunny 'Stricker' Lee, Fatman, Hitman, Clyde, Joe 'Mighy Emporer', Admiral Ken, Ariane 'Ari Up' Forstor and Sir Collins. This film dedicated their memory and contributions to this world.

I believe we collectively captured the spirit of this club in this filmed time capsule Legacy in the Dust: The Four Aces Story.

Produced by Sarah Smith

Love and Light to you all

TERUGBLIK / RECAP: THE LAST RESPONDERS — FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE & EARSHOT
POST, Arnhem — 10 september

On September 10, we screened the Dutch premiere of The Last Responders at POST, a new investigative film by Forensic Architecture and Earshot. The film reconstructs the events of March 23, 2025, in Tel al-Sultan, Gaza, when Israeli forces massacred fifteen Palestinian aid workers. Anchored in the testimonies of the two surviving medics and video and audio recordings from that night, it exposes the abuse, executions, and concealment that took place during and after the attack.

After the screening, Elliot Bourne, research coordinator of the film at Forensic Architecture, answered questions from the audience. Bourne shared how the investigation was developed and discussed the Situated Testimony method and how it engages with memory and trauma.

Thank you to Elliot Bourne, Forensic Architecture, Earshot, POST, and everyone who joined us.

🇳🇱 MY NETHERLANDS PERFORMANCE DEBUT 🇳🇱

Almost one year ago, I had my performance debut in the Netherlands. At the opening of the @platform_post exhibition "Embodied Encryption" (curated by the brilliant @liekew0uters), I was invited to present my gender software fuckery performance "in transitu live".

It was my third time doing the performance, and the first time outside of Denmark. Even though Denmark and the Netherlands are culturally quite close, I used the opportunity to talk about how gender is perceived differently across cultures and how gendered software risks homogenizing gender, thereby erasing cultural gender differences.

The exhibition also featured my works "in transitu" and "Being represented by data is like losing a part of yourself" alongside gorgeous works by @jakeelwes, @rodellwarner, @beverley.hood.studio and @morehshin.

If you want to know more about "in transitu live", you can read much more on my website.
