Looking back to a fantastic day where we bought together some industry experts. They helped shape the direction our young people took the Social Action day themes! @playervoice

Being able to combine my passion of sports, community and working with young people is such a blessing and privilege.

The only constant is change someone once said. However change only occurs in my opinion, when people fundamentally want to change. Feeling differently, leads to thinking differently. Which leads onto doing differently aka change!

I’d like to thank Martin and The Premier League for the invite and opportunity to share my experiences. It was great to hear from colleagues across the country. Shining a light on the difference we are making through the power of sport.

Likewise it was critical that we were joined by key stakeholders and senior leadership within the Police, as changes within and across the relevant agencies, facilitates and enhances the process rather than inhibits it.

I shared some of the positive interventions, the importance of being trauma informed, being mindful of the language used with vulnerable people.

Also, how at times a combination of the wrong person in the right job, along with not inviting the right people to such discussions has restricted positive change occurring. In fact, it not only becomes a barrier, it can also be counter productive.

Lastly I’d like to thank @idriselba for using his platform and voice. Serious Youth Violence is one of the many issues we are tackling through our interventions. Having support and allyship is vital if we are to realise a better tomorrow for our young people. They literally are our future…
