my biggest piece of advice, coming from a girly who got made redundant a month into launching the most ambitious thing of her career so far (a whole creative festival) and now it’s thriving only 10 months later with sold out shows every time 🥹

hi 8K!!!

We still can’t get over how mind blowinggg @playing__outside was!!

100s of people loved and bought our blends (it was so busy that we didn’t even shoot any content!), and we got to connect with the most incredible people - whether it be people who travelled across the country to be there OR the sweetest stallholders who, despite being so busy, still dropped by and supported us 🥺🫶🏻

A huge huge shout out to @shaw.22 for putting together the most amazing event and creating such a wholesome space for POC brands in London 🤎

Meet my best friend. 🥹 Hold the tears…

She was my eureka moment.

One day, she came over to my house with a bad tummy ache and asked if I had Gaviscon or something similar. Instead, I gave her the powder I’d been using for my own IBS - a recipe that had been in my family since 1901.

She took it… and felt instant relief.

Then came: “Ria, where have you been hiding this?! You need to share this with the world!”

She went on to tell me about patients she’d seen as an NHS doctor who would often struggle with indigestion, bloating and other gut discomfort, particularly when waiting times to see a specialist were so long. She’d also noticed more people looking towards natural, traditional remedies for support.

And then she said the words that changed everything:

“You should turn this into a business.”

She didn’t just encourage me to start Tulah - she believed in it before I really did.

She even recommended it to her aunty in the Caribbean who struggled with indigestion. 🥹

She’s the reason I had the courage to begin.

And she’s continued to support me ever since - including through the “I’m having a last-minute panic the night before an event” phone calls 😂

Then came one of the sweetest moments at our stall at Playing Outside…

I retold this story to two best friends who had come over to us, and as I was talking, one of them suddenly started getting teary-eyed.

I assumed she had something in her eye (😂), so I offered her some water and a tissue.

She said, “No, I’m crying happy tears because I’m getting to witness the power of girl friendships - and it’s so beautiful.”

🥹🥹🥹

Honestly, that made our day.

Because behind Tulah isn’t just a recipe, a product or a business.

It’s friendship.
It’s family.
It’s women encouraging women.
It’s the people who believe in you when you’re still finding the courage to believe in yourself.

So this one is for my best friend. 💛

Thank you for being my very first cheerleader, my biggest advocate and the person who gave me the push to share something that had been in my family for generations.

This is Tulah. And it started with a tummy ache, a 1901 family recipe and one very encouraging best friend. 🌿

What’s better than one pair of tartan earrings? Two of course.

@divyadancer had the bright idea of layering them up and I’m so here for it. More of this please everyone!

At none other than: @playing__outside 🏃

Our biggest Foil Embossing Photoframe workshop by @afamiliarplace_ at @playing__outside was a success and we are so proud of everyone’s finished pieces!! Look at their photo frames 🥹❤️‍🔥 So wholesome to see you all creating memories with loved ones & using the photo booths at @cornercornercanadawater or bringing your own. Some of you came solo, with friends or family, chatting, giggling and also took some quiet time to yourself too. To everyone that came, thank you so much, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Should we host another?
