𝙵𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚑 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙵𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚑 explores the practice of poetic writing with, within, from, and through trauma. The workshop also seeks the specificities of poetic writing within Sinophone bodies and lineages. During this afternoon gathering, seven poets will share their presence through discussion and silence. We will explore ways to attune to personal trajectories, affective undercurrents, embodied knowledge, and the skilful approaches that sustain the transmutation between fleshy holdings and poetic utterances. 📅 2–5 pm, 7th March, 2026, postcode N4. 3 months post-op today and feeling ever~lighter!!! still getting used to inhabiting this new flesh vessel,,, not least receiving hostile looks in public spaces and getting to know my wardrobe from scratch,,, though, a tab has been closed in my brain 4ever and it feels amazing so thankful to everyone who cooked for me, hosted me, meal-planned for me, and checked in on me during this period when i had tubes dangling from my chest and withdrawal hives and was walking around in a bathrobe 24/7 🥰 and everyone who dedicated a song to me at my karaoke celebration 🥰 and everyone who donated to make this possible 🥰 the list goes on 🥰 ever~lighter, ever~grateful!!! A look back at last Thursday’s conference Typewriter Against my Knee, a day shaped by questions, resonances, and generous thinking. ✨ After two years of conversations between myself and Francesco Ventrella, it was a pleasure to finally bring this event to life. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to the panelists who responded to our open call with such care and depth. We moved through writing that resists fixed forms, practices that connect lived experience and critical reflection, and explore where art writing and life writing meet. We engaged with the works of Kathy Acker, Bruce Boone, Sadia Hartmann, Roberta M. Graham, Peter Kohler, Carla Lonzi, Duncan Grant, Amelia Rosselli, Pauline Oliveros, Clarice Lispector, McKenzie Wark, Hanna Weiner, among others. Huge thanks to Daniela Cascella and Allison Grimaldi Donahue for opening and closing the day, and for holding space for it. From Daniela’s reflections on chimeric writing to Allison’s workshop, which invited us into attentive and collaborative ways of thinking through language and form. Thanks as well to @stickyfingerspublishing for their generous selection of books, to Chase for funding the conference, and to Francesco for chairing the day. Some glimpses from last week’s workshop READ ALL ABOUT IT with Sticky Fingers Publishing, organised with the support of the CHASE Feminist Network at the Feminist Library in Peckham 💌 We explored newsletters from the 70s–90s in the Library’s collection—Lesbian Connect, Pink Pages, Fat News, Black Lesbian & Centre Project, IN PRINT (and more)—alongside contemporary mail projects like In Your Letterbox, Modern Queers, Dyke News Scotland, Another Subculture, Trans Femme Social Newsletter, SM’s Studio Newsletter, and niqui causse. We engaged with all this material collectively, intuitively, emotionally: cutting, copying, collaging, and chatting. Together we made our own newsletter, a shared and messy process of being with queer and feminist archives in the present. Thanks to Anna, Tessa, Miranda, Lucia, Sandy, Charlie (K.), Sandy, Charlie Maybe, hang li, Anjelica, Martina, Sophie, Kaiya and everyone who joined us 💖 (I have a few spare copies—if you’re interested in having one or some images, DM me!)
