Meet the artist. plimp @plimpmusic plimp create dance music by blending the raw, industrial energy of noise and techno with hypnotic, atmospheric synthesizer passages. Their live improvised playing styles are a dynamic exploration of contrasts—Alex Winner drives pulsing rhythms through a drum machine with gritty industrial FX, while Craig Robinson aka ‘dont know’ crafts immersive soundscapes using a synthesizer and looping pedals. Influenced by techno, deep house, noise, and experimental music, plimp creates a free-form improvised sonic journey where structure meets chaos. Fresh from their festival set at Deep Bush and recent events at the Rechabite and The Bird, plimp are looking forward to their debut performance at the Buff #livetechno #dj #fremantle

Meet the artist. Brad F @bfsm_bradfsoundmachine Brad F (previous releases as Theremantrum and Mindseye Robot), a staple around the Modulations crew for a while now. Returns happily after some time hiding in the lab with a new batch of sounds tracks loaded up in his sample and midi based portable live sound machine rig. Brads signature sound extends from embracing the happy place that is the point in the venn diagram where techno, acid, breakbeat, electro come together. Stemming from a background in jungle dnb breaks vinyl djing and drawing inspiration from the sounds, techniques and energy of so many legends from the likes of The prodigy, DMX krew, Underworld, Ceephax Acid crew just to name a handfull. Coming from a place of undeniable love of all things rave, synthesizer, sampler drum machine and just moving sound in general, you can expect psychedelic 303s, classic synth sound designs, tasty arps, crusty rolling breakbeats, hard hitting 4 to the floors with a smackering of phat analog purity and a healthy dusting of modern digital sample and synthesis techniques. Brads sets are the result of a dedicated process of studio experimentation with whatever combo of gear may be calling at the time, sometimes resulting in a finished track or sometimes, sometimes in the box, sometimes purely out, other times just a deepdive into some unorthodox signal chain routery madness. Whatever the method, the results are painstakingly disassembled, chopped and curated within his elektron digitakt  / octatrack (and usually an extra friend or two) core live setup rig for remixing and improvisation performance to bring a set that retains a live hardware jam essence while tipping the hat to a flow that evolves, moves and surprises as one would expect from a dj style mix. #livetechno #dj #acidtechno

🪱🐉 A two stage Thursday, smooshing Cryptids jangly music series into the verbose jank of Early Worm. Worms of a feather because worms are, evidently, fish of the dirt. Who, like all fish, are secretly euphoric because they are secretly flying. While Cryptids are disputed entities, like BigFoot and the Drop Bears, who stake their claim in arguments unruffled by science. So it follows that worms are cryptids, imagining powerful wings that propel them through the churning underworld. Joining this fellowship we have: __Friends of the Family - friendliest band in town. small-town sincere, melodic, and cosy. __Post Nut Clarity - medial-frontal frenetic poetry post-punk band takes on adulthood with rock. __Zaid Snobar - Arab-Australian poet with a beautiful voice visiting from the eastern states. __Lyndon Blue - a less jolly swagman unfurls a dharma on the unity of joy and sadness. __Bureaoctapus - alt-rock officecore debut, under the watchful gaze of a taxidermied buffalo. __Cryptids - melodic dream rock. Should be asleep, but get up for emotional catharsis reasons. __plimp - electric duo in self-paced soul arrhythmia. Like going for a really good drive through Kwinana at sundown. __Sibling - ice-breaker jank improv, only incorrect prophecies. call shotgun on the first set. _Entry is pay-as-you-feel. _Proceeds towards a trolley to move the pool table that gets in the way of shows in the side room. _The Buffalo Club is a member-run non-profit association. Super rare, outside of sports. Joining is good/cheap. _This event is held in Walyalup, on Noongar boodjar. Respect to elders past and present, and to continued culture.
