I just read Mugapoo by John Plover. It isn't “beautiful” poetry, but it cut's like a knife. Mugapoo is as raw and honest as the poet who bore his heart to write it. I uttered several audible profanities in response to these poetic snippets of grit, the sea, and the dark edges of humanity. This is possibly the most brilliant display of veteran poetry that I've had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. Read this. . Bravo @ploverjohn And @warboyactual I think you’d get a real kick out of this. #poetry #poems #books #bookreview #poetrycommunity #authorscommunity #veterans #veteranauthors #veteranartist #veteranpoetry #militarypoetry #duck

FINALLY I finished Sentinel Demon Assassin by LD Nash! School and life and all’s been heavy recently so I’ve not been reading anywhere near as much as I should have. But I’m getting back into it! There will be a snarky video review coming when my camera batteries are done charging, but until then, let’s just leave it at this book gets a thumbs up, and I can’t wait to give it a proper review later today. Also pictured is my current TBR pile.
