PLUGHOLE - Sheffield's Weirdest New material night - 23rd July - now ON SALE!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This playful workshop integrates joy, presence and authenticy to connect with and embrace failure and other parts of ourselves we may feel shame for.

The day will be a mix of playful exercises, reflection and ritual.

Your facilitator - Ollie Yates

Ollie Yates practices what they call ‘emergent facilitation techniques’.
What does that mean I hear you ask? -

Ollie doesn’t claim to be an expert on any single topic. Instead, they bring the ability to stay present in the unknown, to welcome failure, and to uncover the unexpected gifts that come from vulnerability and the beginners mind.

Since 2020, they’ve been deeply exploring the world of clowning!

They've created 3 shows :

Everybody's Dating Ollie (2024 - 2026)

Anarkids comedy cabaret (2024 - Present)

HIVE (2026 - Present)

And ran over 100 workshops including Laughter yoga, Clowning, Improv, Sacred Play, Playful Men and more!

They’re so excited to offer a playful, meaningful space created specifically for men.

This space is for men and people who experience maleness. If you’re non-binary and feel called to this workshop, you are warmly welcome to join.

Had a blast practicing the art of Clown Gynaecology at @plugholescratch! My comedy vulva is no longer plagued by hysteria!

Thanks to @mtatephotos for photography :)

That feeling when you're a simple street mime who gets possessed by a sexy demon... we've all been there 😈

Thanks for having me @plugholescratch for your first birthday celebration, incredibly funny acts and the loveliest audience a drag thing could ask for!

I've wanted to do an act to an @igorrr song since I started thinking about doing drag. Over two years later, I'm incredibly glad to have done just that! I find their music so expressive and comedic; I enjoy coming up with narratives based on their creative instrumentation and singing/screaming/growling without lyrics. This was a real treat for me, and I had quite a few audience members come up after excited by the song choice of "Cheval". Hopefully I did the audio justice with my captions 😂

I've not done mime before, so this was a new avenue for Freddie! I love how drag gets you down so many rabbit holes of learning, I'm keen to add more mime/clowning to what I can bless/curse a stage with 🤡
