“Be scared and do it anyway”

Yoooo it’s Kettz! 🌞

As we make our way into Fall, I wanted to put some memorable moments from the summer on my page and I thought why not throwback to when @plus_237 and I went to to an artist talk featuring the mystical and intergalactic talent @in.iko !! I wish I had been writing notes (shoutout ADHD and getting there slightly late), but one of the biggest takeaways from the conversation was to stand true in who you are & stay focused on the mission, because the world NEEDS your art and it needs that song/poem/piece/WHATEVER that only YOU can do! We must rise to meet the moment, especially as these institutions crumble and fall around us.

It was such an affirming discussion, and I think about this day often. Thank you Iniko and @listento_ekela (Iniko’s sister and manger) for being an amazing dream team and putting that magic out in the world!

Also make sure to stream their new single, Man in Black, available on all platforms neeeoowwwwww! Bless 🌞🙏🏾

To every single volunteer who helped make these screenings possible. I truly can't thank you enough. Your support, time, and dedication carried me through each night, and I’m forever grateful.

@theemvpcee, thank you for holding so much together behind the scenes so I could make it through the night without having to worry about every little detail. I couldn’t have done it without you.

@cairojharris, thank you not only for volunteering on the day of, but also for creating the beautiful flyers for the panels. Your creativity and hard work meant so much.

@georgebuntinfordistrict41, thank you for volunteering at the registration table, rocking the glasses, and capturing content throughout the event. I appreciate everything you did.

@maryrejahlil, thank you for continually showing up and supporting me. From making sure everyone got their wristbands to helping people find their way, your kindness and consistency never went unnoticed.

There are so many more volunteers who deserve my gratitude. Please know that I see you, I appreciate you, and I will never forget the love and support you've shown me. I love you all. You demonstrated your belief in the Baltimore Legacy project by the way you keep showing up .❤️

Hey Baltimore 🌱🔊

Come join us for the first installment of Botanical Beats, July 22nd at Kelley Gardens!

Botanical Beats was created with the intention of bringing Baltimore residents together through music, art, movement, wellness, and the healing comfort of plants. A space to connect, share, discover something new, and maybe expand beyond the surface-level interactions we so often have with one another.

For our first gathering, @selektahvibez will be setting the atmosphere with a DJ set, surrounded by beautiful artwork curated by @plus_237 with a live Japanese/African martial arts sparring demonstration by @bokkensandbatakaris

Come browse the plants, experience some art, move to some music, meet somebody new, and spend the evening with us 🌿

Black Gxrl Flea Market year THREE was bigger & better than I could’ve ever imagined. Yall reallllly showed out & showed big love! Putting money in your community’s pockets, that’s huge.

Shoutout to the vendors, the market would be nothing without you. Shoutout to @lexington_market for requesting our return. Shoutout to the volunteers for going above & beyond. Shoutout to YALL for the support!

This market was a labor of love. It’s about love, connection, community, support & Black femininity because WE make the world go round. Thank you for showing up & out for us. Thank you for your authenticity & your creativity. Love y’all down!

We’ll meet again sooner than you think. Until next time🙂‍↔️💌🫶🏾
