Starting on our bar project from an old wire spool. Chris is doing “tractor things” to push it over so it doesn’t warp. @plussizeskigirl has a true passion for skiing! She started skiing at 3 years old and hasn’t stopped. Working a full time job having a side hustle, planning her wedding, dealing with a slow start to winter this year and a injury early season that kept her off her skis, she still managed to get 50+ days in. She even made her first trip into Tuckermans Ravine. Dear Ski Industry,

@obermeyer is leading in the ski industry for those of us in larger bodies who love to shred the gnar! Finding cute ski clothes, this means nothing in all black, is very difficult. Right now, I can’t walk into any ski shop and buy a jacket or pair of ski pants in my size.

@obermeyer has nailed their plus size jackets. I’m wearing the Tuscany Elite size 20. However, they need to work on the Malta Pant, which is also what I’m wearing in a size 20. It’s great in the waist but the room from my waist to below my bootie is too short. Either my bootie is hanging out or I have camel toe.

I know brands like @burton , @patagonia , and @thenorthface are also extending their sizes. I hope to see them in stores instead of having to order online, pay for shipping, and the hassle of returning because I couldn’t try them on in the store to see if they fit. Stores listen up…order bigger sizes!

@obermeyer I would love to model your plus size clothing for body diversity in your Instagram and ads. Right now, your marketing is all thin women.

I would also love the chance for you to see my concerns about the Malta Pant. I’m not the only person in a larger body with the bootie complaint.

I made a plus size skiing and snowboarding group on FB!

Yes, I’m old and I still use Facebook. Groups there are such a great place to meet people online or IRL with similar interests, get beta about specific ski towns, resorts, and runs, share gear tips and tricks. I love all my hiking groups, but I still have a hard time connecting with other plus size skiers.
So yeah, I’m a nerd and I made a FB group.
For all plus size identifying people, current or former. Also for anyone looking to break into the sport, not just current athletes.
