“THE REST OF YOUR LIFE” has been out for two weeks - I wanted to post some great pics @sarlauf took along with some words. The process of making and sharing this music has brought me a new peace and a renewed spirit. I feel comforted as hell to know the songs don’t only live on my computer and I wish them a really nice time out in the world, with all the other songs. It seems the thing I should do now is make one hundred to one thousand instagram reels with the songs in them just to MAKE SURE that as many people as possible are going to accept me into their heart. I would not count on me doing that. But I might make a couple. One thing I’m definitely gonna do is make more songs. love ya very much. Go Knicks

📌 NEW SINGLE BY JLJR 📌

JLJR returns with Thumbtack - a song
about grief and the fragments of a life pinned to a wall, revisited years later…

The single continues JLJR’s signature blend of lo-fi intimacy and textural experimentation, offering a second look into his upcoming EP The Rest of Your Life, landing later this spring.

Thumbtack captures the emotional whiplash of being a tourist in one’s old life, looking at empty spaces where people and homes once were. The details of their disappearances flash in vivid memory under the microscope of recollection:

🎵
thumbtack your
letter to the bedroom door
saw both your parents at the grocery store
why’s everybody think
it’s not their fault?
🎵

Listen to Thumbtack now—out everywhere 🚀

In March of ‘23 I performed “I Hope You Know” at a sofar show the day after I wrote it and cried onstage. It was embarrassing and vulnerable and wonderful and awful and it’s the perfect video to explain what this album was written for. Followed by some more breakup/album era videos.

I have so many people to thank for helping me create this.

•to the other vocalists on the album- @c.l0verr @jacobkhalilmusic @itsabbyhelms thank you for hearing things that I didn’t & surrounding my melodies with beauty
•to @gabevalle this thing wouldn’t have been possible without you. I mean you played half the instruments on the thing, and so beautifully. You gave me so much of your time and energy. You let me cry in your studio in between takes. I love you man.
•to @jakecheriff my audio wizard. This album is actually dedicated to Muji- be sure to tell him that. Thank you for introducing me to the weird little bleep bloops that made Numb Heart Affairs so cool
•to my sweet Wes for listening intently & with care to this album as it grew & for wiping my tears throughout the process
•to @zaideraevered for so many pieces of art that fit so perfectly with the message of this project. Thank you for giving me beauty worth 50x what I paid for
•to @thestangeorge for his talent, generosity & having faith in me
•to my family & countless donors who funded this dream of mine. Thank you so much.
•to Oliver Glynn for production & creative direction on track 1. And for the inspiration behind so much of it. Thank you for the wonderful years we spent making music and goofing off till we laugh-cried. I love you friend. I’ll see you in another life.
•to @ray.chh, @jackieevansmusic, @_juliarusso_ , @janetungsten, @zaideraevered, @_melgiselle_ @por.ink.chak @little_blue_tiger the beautiful women in my life that I spent my healing era with & who each gave me priceless wisdom and love.
•to Wesley Georgiev for silent tear-filled hugs & @huntercox910 for comforting roommate wisdom
•to @addie______vogt @pelegreenberg for the sick rhythms
•to my brother @jacobkhalilmusic for constantly teaching me
•to @christianwiggs for taking a chance on me and being my hype man
I love you all. Thank you.
