We had the honor to collaborate with heroes @naomiaklein and Astra Taylor on a video essay for their new book End Times Fascism, out today! The legend Amy Goodman and @democracynow played a couple long clips from the film on air. We’re extremely proud to have been trusted with this project. Our YouTube algorithms may never recover but we created something that captures the absurdity, the horror and hopefully a little bit of light and humor in the fight. Big ups to @pnickcurran for joining us on this one and to Erick Stoll’s camera work.

I had a great time at the Tiny Desk Concert hosted at @mgtnlibrary last night! What a delight to get to see all of these amazing artists at work—and I’m including the videographers in that, too. :) I also thought the little “make your own guitar pick necklace” station was a lot of fun! Fantastic believe Alex Finzel told me I would never be a senator 😉

we’re still not over it.

@tidal playback party at public records was our chance to hear the songs, celebrate the wins and raise a glass to the artists who spent the week creating something out of nothing.

anti social camp nyc 2026 is in the books, but we’re just getting started

Some loose ends were tied up very nicely yesterday

Since September of 2025 Lisa from the @wv_sierra_club and I worked together to plan and organize a community quilting project. Before getting started my intentions were to use up my fabric scraps, meet some new people in the community, and empower others to find joy in climate action

Climate change is overwhelming and depressing to think about, and action matters, no matter the size

Our first event at the @co.op.wv in January was awesome; I was literally in awe of all of the people who showed up and set goals to take action in different ways (pictures of sticky notes on slide 4. Feel free to comment something you would like to do or your favorite - my top two are “bully Patrick Morrissey” and “I pledge to: not buy new clothes”)

From January to March of this year it was really special watching everyone create their own quilt square with their own style and color preferences. People who have never touched a sewing machine before made their very own squares that contributed to the final large quilt

I’m so grateful to everyone who showed up to write down their goals for finding joy in climate action and/or helped to create our lovely quilt. I am walking away from this project feeling inspired and connected

My Climate Action venn diagram from July of 2025 is on the last slide. Writing my goals down allowed this opportunity to come my way and cleared a huge, stress-inducing pile of fabric scraps out of my home

Thank you thank you thank you ♥️

I visited Valley View Elementary School earlier this week to talk to students who have watched Federal immigration agents detain family members and fellow classmates including 5-year-old Liam Ramos.

These brave, brilliant students wanted the world to understand the impact that the past few weeks have had in their school - and in their lives.

So, they decided to write letters to the ICE agents have detained their friends and families. Here are their voices.

As always, I am beyond grateful to the incredible team at NYTimes Opinion who helped put this story together in record time, and with so much talent and grace.

And thank you to the teachers (@pegann7) and students of Valley View Elementary School for trusting us and sharing their stories.

It’s #givingtuesday and today we’re hoping to get your support to help us cover repairs for our ambulances.

Since March of this year, our ambulance crew has been working non-stop transporting patients - over 800 at this point - making sure they get the best possible care.

Besides fuel, one of the biggest expenses are repairs. If you can, we would be thankful for your support to help us cover some of them.

Donations can be made through our website prevailtogether.org our through the linktree in our bio.

Thank you everyone - really.

Two big election nights, two livestreams with @hellgateny. The first was so exhilarating and chaotic! But leading up to November, I knew we had room to grow.

I thought about our “commercial breaks”—the bits of downtime. How could we unify and better-define the overall voice of the show? Could the moments when a reporter wasn’t on screen still *feel like Hell Gate*?

I immediately thought about shooting a bunch of Local Commercials. In the end I only made one: a 45-second promo for @scoboco’s $20 Dinner column. It was quick, scrappy, and so much fun, and I’m so lucky that my friend Scott is the most game-for-anything man in NYC. More Scott Lynch videos in the future? Sure hope so!!!

The next thing I knew I wanted to make were essentially shameless ripoffs of the “Bumps” that would play during blocks of @adultswim circa 2007. These little snippets of music-and-photos are hard to describe, but…if you know, you know. This is where @zogotsoul really came through. All the music heard on these “We’ll be right back” clips come from him, and we used Zo’s original beats ALL OVER the stream. It wouldn’t have been the same without his generosity.

Finally, the intro. I wanted this general election stream to start with an “Oh Sh*t!!” moment—a proper News Team montage! We are not here to mess around!! With crucial help from @pnickcurran, it came together (literally five minutes before showtime!) Our real star here was Rich Lamb, a 40-year veteran of WCBS News radio. Rich’s voiceover was incredible, you gotta hear it for yourself!

So yeah, this is my long and indulgent breakdown of the HG stream’s interstitial content. When we were live, I operated our three cameras and kept our hosts on their toes playing human tally light, but these in-between videos were my real contribution to the show. It was gratifying to get to stretch out creatively, but I was just one part of a giant group. Thank you again to Scott, Zo, Nick, and Rich—not to mention the tireless work of @romkeh, @bloombradley, @thesmackboi, @brasgood, @rickpaulas, @lulu___johnson, and all of @partnerandpartners. Subscribe to Hell Gate. Hope to go live again soon ❤️
