A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us at Charm City Cultural Cultivation last week for prayer. a memorial for d’angelo I, hosted by @pocketdweller_ and Perfect Memory Radio. Following the curation of last year’s memorial, pocketdweller_ brought this tribute to our HQ space to mark one year since the loss of the beloved soul singer D’Angelo. Attendees created custom zines filled with ephemera and images reflecting his artistic practice, while rare archival performance footage and interviews were projected during an all vinyl DJ set.  It was a beautiful evening of shared memory, love for music, and collective healing.  Swipe through to catch a few moments from the night. About: Charmccc houses three programs committed to enriching and cultivating growth within Baltimore’s black creative landscape: The Last Resort Artist Retreat (TLRAR), Zora’s Den (ZD), and Black Baltimore Digital Database (BBDD). Charm City Cultural Cultivation is a non-profit foundation founded by @derrickadamsny whose primary function is to build opportunities for cultural growth in Baltimore’s inner city by introducing and supporting initiatives for public programs in the arts, social engagements, leisurely activities and educational advancement through informal gatherings.
