POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every last Saturday of August is Día de la Afrodescendencia Salvadoreña or the day we celebrate Afrodescendency in El Salvador. August is also our Black History Month.

Despite the state still not giving recognition to our our roots, the exclusions of our history in the Salvadoran education system, and structural racism our community faces we are here and we are proud.

Thank you to our ancestors who paved the way for us such as Prudencia Ayala or Franco Reyna. There is still a lot of history to learn but I’m proud of the community we’ve built.

Take the time to learn the real history. Learn about the importance of indigo, how our ancestors rebelled against the state, and ways we are keeping that spirit.

Check out some of the folks I’ve tagged. Feliz día compás!!

A little late, but too special not to share. 🐝✨

Back in May, we brought a vision to life with our very first CX&B Promotional Products Pavilion at CAHR 2026 and we're still smiling about it.

What started as an idea became two incredible days filled with meaningful conversations, amazing supplier partners, creative inspiration, and hundreds of HR professionals discovering the power of promotional products.

To everyone who stopped by, participated in our rewards activity, visited our supplier partners, or simply shared a conversation with us, thank you. You helped make this event one we'll never forget!

This wasn't just a pavilion. It was proof of what happens when great partners come together with a shared purpose.

Still feeling the good vibes from Saturday’s event at C&S Garden Center. Let me tell you it’s not always that events are so well curated and organized and with care for bringing together community. ❤️‍🔥

It feels great to have friends visit who’ve seen me through this whole journey. 🥰 And they show up with their Artemisa Femmes pieces on. 🥹

Zaira (pic 1-3) and I first met a few years before the pandemic at a series of Central American dinners organized by another friend. She created the page @centam_beauty during that time and it meant so much to so many of us. 💖

I didn’t get to meet all the amazing vendors but wanted to share these two favorites with you. Two friends told me I needed to make it to @manabakeryla’s booth before closing. Filipina owned and specializing with Filipino inspired cakes and pastries. I took home the Brown Butter polvorones and they were a hit with my fam.

In pic 5 is @novyandlivy apothecary. Their soaps and body butters are divine. Personally, I like earthy, herby smells that in their scent tell me where they came from. I got the Cedarwood Ylang-Ylang body butter for me and their Rose Garden body butter for a gift. The first ingredient is shea butter and also has rose hip oil. Our skin is our largest organ so you know—stick with quality ingredients for skincare. 😊

Check out these vendor’s pages and give them a follow. As we divest from corporate sources for the goods that make up our homes it’s helpful to build up a repertoire of makers you can count on. 🥳

The Salvadoran community is an oxymoron, to believe this election turnout will benefit you while the country sees you as a MS-13 gang member, criminal, “illegal alien”, and yard worker despite your level of education and professional qualifications (it’s happened to me many times). It’s also interesting how you seem to have an equal liking to Trump and Bukele assuming peace is possible when Bukele himself is pro-Zionist while having Palestinian ancestry. Places like Long Island have already proposed plans for establishing a militia, increase in hate crimes and violence, and ICE presence around public areas like hospitals, the courts, and schools, be prepared because denaturalization and citizenship revocation is possible

Credit to @poeticallyzee you hit the nail right on the head!

Wow! Yall know how to make a girl feel loved! Thank you all for the Birthday love today! I believe in answering everyone individually so please know I see you and I thank you! Birthdays are no fleeting moment. They mark another year of life and a time of renewal.

I thank God almighty for giving me another year of life to breathe, dance and experience its magnificent design.

I thank God for my mother, my family and my NON raggedy community of friends.

Time and time again I state: my friends are of the highest quality and caliber of people. I will never ever ever take you all for granted for what is life without good people to enjoy it with.

Thank you to all my students at @lmudance and staff who appreciate what offer and my Renaissance high students and faculty! 💜🫶🏽💜🫶🏽
27-37 was a decade!

I moved from Chicago- VA- LA- Long Beach. I toured, I danced, I earned a MFA, and now I’m embarking on my solo career and research.
I am going to be using this 37th year of my life to actually make my dreams come true. The revolution will not be televised and I’ve got to speak up, use my voice, and advocate. And if you ain’t really with that I suggest you unfollow noeooowww! My Sagittarius fire is coming in HOT 🔥✨♐️

Did you know that August is Mes de la Afrodescendencia (Black History Month in El Salvador? 💙

It’s a special time for Afro/Afro-Indigenous Salvadoran communities to celebrate & continue to bring awareness to the existence, contributions & legacies of Afro-Salvadorans in the country & the diaspora.

Like all of Latin America, El Salvador has always had Afrodescendant communities. However, unlike neighboring isthmian countries, El Salvador has had a long & complex history of attempts to eradicate Afro-Salvadoran history.

Many will argue that El Salvador “doesn’t have” an Afrodescendant population because geographically it does not have a connection to the Caribbean coast, therefore slavery never occurred in the country. This is false! Others will argue, that it was through the dictatorship of Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez’s immigration law in 1932 that forbid the entry of Black, Asian, Arab & Romani people into the country, during the whitening campaign in order to whiten the population.

Through the dedicated work of Afro/Afro-Indigenous activists & organizations, more + more people are becoming aware & learning Afro-Salvadoran history.

I highly encourage y’all to follow & support these pages to learn more about this topic:
