The things that happen once you leave the main road 🙆🏽‍♀️🥹 I GOT SO LUCKY!
I was literally following one mountain road and it led me to it all.. wowowow

Switzerland is truly SO beautiful, and I’m kinda jealous of everyone who gets to call this country home 🥰🇨🇭

And even though my boat search hasn’t been successful (yet!), it still led me here. Because otherwise, I wouldn’t have crossed Switzerland so many times 😂

I guess there’s always something positive to take from every situation 🫶🏼✨

Highlights in this section:

The oak trees have started shedding all their acorns. It makes for treacherous trail conditions!

The humidity and bugs are at an all time high. I can't take a break without constantly swatting them away from my face while I try to eat.

The opening picture is from Mt. Shenandoah in NY. Not particularly noteworthy by itself, but I love the trail mural on top. In May it needed a touch up. When I came through in September it had a beautiful new coat commemorating America 250.

And I couldn't have planned my next patriotic moment any better. I got to see the New York skyline from the tallest peak of the AT in New York, Prospect Rock,on September 11, the 25th anniversaryof the 9/11 attacks, (slide 9). It was a special moment.

My New Jersey cousins visited me again. We glamped, had Italian food, and hiked the Pinwheel Vista together.

I visited all the farm stands I could fit in, eating chips and salsa or banana splits for lunch if I felt like it.

Follow along as I continue my 4,400 mile journey yo-yoing the Appalachian Trail Nobo and Sobo in 2026.

Riding through Denmark & Germany, we almost forgot what climbing felt like…

Then Austria welcomed us with mountains towering over every direction.

There’s something about being back in the mountains that feels grounding to me. They give me a sense of direction, while also humbling me VERY quickly. Suddenly the road gets steeper, the miles feel longer, and every bit of elevation has to be earned.

We tracked the whole ride on @Polarsteps, I’ve loved watching our little line weave its way into the Alps.

Day 340 | Km 38,096 | Guyana | #AroundEarthWithoutFlying

Welcome to Guyana! 🇬🇾

Since Venezuela and Guyana have a dispute over the land in-between, there's no legal border crossing. So to get here, I had to spend a day with their neutral neighbor first, in Brazil.

Sometimes to cross overland from country A to country B next door, you need to go through country C first 😄 here are a couple of other previous examples in my experience:
Afghanistan to Uzbekistan (through Tajikistan)
Azerbaijan to Armenia (through Georgia)
