Isobel, @politeextinction, hosted an hour long drawing session at Jelly today as part of her residency. Focused on warm up exercises that help understand how to look at and interpret objects quickly, in this case rubbish and discarded items.

“Mr. El-Hawrani was an ear, nose, and throat consultant at the University Hospitals of Derby, and Burton, Mr. El-Hawrani's family said “His greatest passions were his family and his profession, and he dedicated his life to both.” Mr. El-Hawrani died at Glenfield Hospital @leicestershospitals on 28 March 2020. This is in honor of Mr. El Hawrani and those who alas have died of the consequence of caring for COVID-19 patients in the UK's @nhs…Heraldry arose because a knight's face was covered, sthey created symbols to tell people who they were. In a time when many are wearing masks, who they really are is demonstrated by their actions.” ⁣@politeextinction #ArtCards4Healthcarer⁣

#ArtCards4HealthCarers uses our creative skills and power to give a small injection of happiness, wonder, curiosity and energy to the amazing health carers around the world. This is a small gift of creative generosity from artists to those who are on the front line of protecting and helping us all.⁣
⁣
We will be featuring the artworks from 15 - 31 July and then in our online exhibition with more detail about the works and artists themselves.

Some photos of the #collagegardencartagena taken by @luisbv_23 . We are working on an Ebook/pdf with the photos of all your beautiful #collages right now, but the editing and layout may take a while. As soon as it's done we will share a download link! In the meanwhile here are a few of the photos. Thanks again to everyone who participated and who helped with the exhibition in diverse ways!

Isobel Milton a k.a Polite Extinction ( @politeextinction ) is an illustrator, artist and educator living in Dubai and the UK. She enjoys telling people that she has worked in churches, museums, hospitals, archives, schools and prisons. The main focus of her creative work is on the topic of extinction, whether she is making a children's workshop about a mystical zoo or creating a film about the Dodo's demise with students. The #collages she sent to the #collagegardencartagena are a homage to the environmental issues insects are facing as well as a play with metaphors of feminine beauty. Thanks for participating in the #collagegarden !
