For more than five decades, we’ve been defining real American Hi-Fi.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Every song has a story before it has a stage. 🎧

Join @polkaudio and @sofarsounds this Fall for The Listening Room, an evening of live, high energy performances alongside something rarer: sit-down time with the artists themselves throughout the evening.

In the Listening Room lounge, the set doesn’t end. The artists talk through what inspired the songs, what they were listening to when they wrote them, and what it sounds like coming back through a pair of Polk speakers built for exactly this.

Just music, the artists who made it, and a living room vibe to hear it in!

A DSP and amplifier would have taken this setup to another level, but this is just running on the stock head unit and component speakers. Super satisfying, especially considering it’s running just on the @marutisuzukiofficial suzuki harman stock head unit and @polkaudio polk audio db6501 component speakers

We just wrapped up an incredible project bringing true energy visibility to homes across two countries! Using a single innovo Magic Cube, we successfully integrated SolarEdge inverters and LG storage batteries directly into Nice/Elan and Control4 systems. We wanted to solve the problem of solar data hiding behind siloed mobile apps, so we engineered the Cube to run an advanced energy model. Now, instead of just seeing raw kilowatt figures, homeowners can view their actual time-of-use monetary savings, live battery reserves, and real-time panel health right on the touch panels they already use every day.
To make this perform flawlessly, we designed the Magic Cube to communicate locally via Modbus TCP, polling data every 10 seconds for lightning-fast, zero-cloud reliability. We also wanted to make deployment completely frictionless for our fellow integrators, so the Cube automatically renders seven beautifully detailed, ready-made energy screens—requiring absolutely no custom UI graphics work or site visits to update. We are extremely proud of how this deployment showcases our hardware’s capability to transform complex energy metrics into a stunning, effortless smart home experience.

Speaker upgrade done. 🔊

My S2K was still running the factory speakers, and the right side had started distorting — so it was time for a replacement.
After a bit of research, the Polk Audio DB652 seemed like the best option: a 6.5" coaxial speaker that fits in the factory speaker baskets with some minor modification. Pairing them with Metra 72-7800 speaker harnesses made the install straightforward.
I also added foam sealing tape between surfaces and foam rings to reduce rattles and help the speakers seal properly against the door.
