THANK YOU! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came through and supported the very first edition of UNLOCK THE FUNK! 🙌🏼

This event was born from a love for our community and the UK dance scene and seeing so many of you come together, dance, connect and share the floor made it all feel truly worthwhile.
It genuinely could not have happened without you all.

To every dancer who stepped onto the floor, thank you for bringing your energy! 🫶🏼

A massive thank you to our amazing host @dgenilou , DJ @francesca_miles , our judges @shawnplague & @djrenegade_uk , volunteers and our videographer @withsoph_ . Thank you for bringing your skills, energy and heart to the event and helping create such a special atmosphere. 🙏🏼

And to everyone in the audience, thank you for showing up, supporting the dancers, making noise and creating that energy around the floor. Your presence matters more than you know. 🔥

A very special thank you to @justusdancetheatre for believing in this idea and recognising how important it is to create spaces like this for our UK dance scene. Thank you for seeing the vision, supporting it and helping make Unlock the Funk a reality. 🙏🏼

Thank you for believing. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for making it yours.

Here’s to the next one. ❤️‍🔥

5 years into working with @nike, and this has to be one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever been asked to be part of. 🥹

@Nike, @officialsportengland and #StudioYou have joined forces to help teachers tackle the gender activity gap in schools and I’m so proud to lead the dance lessons as a Nike Trainer.

These lessons are designed to build confidence and help more girls find joy in being active. 💃🏽

And honestly, this one hits differently because I’m doing this as the girl who once had low self-esteem, felt deeply body conscious and eventually dropped out of sport.

So to now be part of something that could have reached over 722,000 girls across England feels incredibly special ❤️

If I can help even one girl feel more confident, included and excited to move, then I know exactly why I’m here.

Teachers 🗣️ the lessons are NOW LIVE and completely FREE on the Studio You website. Go take a look 👀💗

Proper happy to be back working with @nike on another Studio You project. I’ve been part of this from the start and it’s one I’m always gonna say yes to.

Last time we reached over 80,000 girls across the UK, and this one should reach even more. The amount of teenage girls that drop out of sport and fitness is mad, and teaching girls Iv seen exactly why. So if I’ve gotta be the blue haired liberal odd teacher to get them moving, then that’s exactly what I’ll do. The last thing I want is for a young girl to grow up thinking movement isn’t for her.

I also got to bring two of my @atyourbeatstudio sisters onto the project, which made it even more special. I love getting to bring the fam along!

Now I just need to hurry up and get back from Japan so I can get into the schools and meet the girls in person.

Big love to my Nike angel @valerie.frzz @emduk.ngb @thisgirlcanuk and the whole team for trusting me again. Hopefully we can inspire even more girls to find a way of moving that they actually enjoy.
