acqua, suolo, biodiversità, emissioni, pratiche produttive, risorse naturali.

📍 4th SWITCH Consortium Meeting & General Assembly
San Sebastián, 4 February 2026

Day 2 of the SWITCH General Assembly was all about listening.

We spent the day listening to the Hubs, to their voices, their challenges, their ideas turning into real projects. Stories rooted in different territories, yet connected by the same desire to build change together.

In the evening, the conversation opened up even more with the Food Mission, as local authorities shared their vision and political commitment for the Gipuzkoa region. It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when institutions, communities and projects truly sit at the same table.

So, not a programme to follow, but a shared experience made of dialogue, trust and the feeling that we’re moving in the same direction.

During the SWITCH Press Tour held in Pollica last November, Virgilio Maretto from pOsti presented the Sugar Detector: an app designed to turn a simple daily action into a powerful tool for awareness.

By scanning a product, users can immediately understand its sugar content in a clear, accessible and intuitive way. A technology that helps people make more informed choices, improve their eating habits, and ultimately build a healthier relationship with food.

It was a truly special gathering at the Mercato di Campagna Amica for the final stop of the SWITCH Marathon, which came to an end in Rome with both familiar and new faces joining the conversation.

Researchers, farmers, and citizens came together to share ideas, taste innovations, and listen to real experiences. The first insights from the SWITCH Boosters Action were also presented, with a focus on understanding the customer journey.
A warm moment of community, where the market transformed into a vibrant space of dialogue, connection, and inspiration to build, step by step, a healthier and more sustainable food future.

The event was organised by Agro Camera, the Rome & Lazio Food Hub, in collaboration with @coldirettiroma and the @ffoodinstitute, with the support of @posti_world and Unicamp.

Marco Pizzuto talks about how technology can become a concrete tool to promote more informed, healthy and sustainable food choices.

Through projects like MyFreshFood, the spectrometer that measures the sugar content of fruit and vegetables in real time, it demonstrates how technology can help us make more responsible choices.

His vision integrates perfectly with SWITCH's objectives: to spread a new food culture based on ethics and knowledge.

Experts and innovators like Marco Pizzuto testify, together with the SWITCH project, that changing the way we produce and consume food is possible and that the transition towards a more sustainable future starts from every single choice.
