Vol. 3 – Chef’s Favourites

This week’s Test Kitchen Tuesday @pettyfoursrestaurant delivered a menu that had the whole room buzzing… with more than a few ooos and arrrs around the dining room.

We started with irresistible hash brown canapés, topped with silky cream cheese and luxurious caviar, the kind of bite that disappears far too quickly.

Next came a herby cheddar scone with a Marmite butter so good it converted even the most loyal Marmite sceptics.

But the moment everyone talked about was the Beef Wellington. Perfectly cooked, wrapped in golden pastry and served with a rich Cabernet Sauvignon sauce so indulgent that plates were practically being licked clean. Honestly… people were half-tempted to sneak away with a jug and a straw.

Then came a stunning whole Cornish megrim sole to share, lightly smoked and paired with buttery potatoes, finished with a beautiful brown butter and caper sauce. Simple, elegant, unforgettable.

And dessert? Pure childhood nostalgia with a Neapolitan, 99

Another incredible Tuesday evening, and another chance for Chef Alfred to showcase the magic coming out of the Petty Fours kitchen.

Tuesdays here are becoming something very special.

If you’d like to join us, Test Kitchen Tuesdays are just 3 courses for £38 – pre-booking only

Vol. 2 - "Chicken & Truffle"

Last night’s 'Test Kitchen Tuesdays' @pettyfoursrestaurant took things up a level.

Vol. 2 was all about deep, rich umami flavours, with chicken and truffle at the heart of every dish.

Each course brought a surprise, clever twists, bold combinations, and plates that sparked conversation around the table. From the first bite to the final petit fours, the menu was thoughtful, creative and beautifully balanced.

I’ll admit, I’ve never been a huge fan of truffle (or wasabi for that matter), but these dishes completely changed my mind.

Test Kitchen Tuesdays are quickly becoming a weekly special.

Strangers sit side by side, stories get shared, and more than a few guests are already calling it their new weekly date night.

And we’re only just getting started.

Next week: Showstoppers.

With just one week to go, there are still a few spaces left for our (5th) Burns Night celebration.

Last year’s Burns Night at the @tartanfoxpub was genuinely something special, which is exactly why I’m teaming up with them again.

This year feels even more exciting, as we’re joined by a true Scotsman, Chef @adamhandling on the pass.

If you enjoy seeing great food made with real care and attention, this is a Burns Night worth being part of.

On the night, you can expect a six-course menu inspired by the best of Scotland, live bagpipes, and Chef Adam bringing everything together for what promises to be a cracking evening.

If you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the time to book your seat, the link is in the bio.

I look forward to welcoming you,

Putting Camborne on the foodie map.

Wednesday's 46th Chat & Eat at the @cogandwheelcamborne with Chef Stuart Cobb & Bev from @cocobeancornwall was unreal.

6 courses: Peruvian ceviche, Puerto Rican pastelón, fancy British cod & chips, Caribbean curry goat, Korean bao buns & dreamy CocoBean desserts.

Affordable, clever, delicious – we all left so happy (and no unbuttoned jeans in sight). Can’t wait for the next one.

Chat and Eat Night No.46

Wednesday was nothing short of exceptional at the @cogandwheelcamborne , where Chefs Stuart Cobb and Bev from @cocobeancornwall transported us around the world with their incredible 6-course Street Food menu. 🌍

We kicked things off with a fresh, zesty Gurnard and Cod ceviche with tiger’s milk – a true nod to Peru that woke up every taste bud. From there, each course told its own delicious story.

But for me – a proud pineapple-on-pizza kinda gal 🍍 – the standouts had to be the sweet Puerto Rican plantain pastelón and that fancy take on the British classic: Michelin-worthy cod and chips with pickled cucumber tartare and a bright pea jus. Absolute perfection.

The night ended on a sweet, nostalgic note with CocoBean’s amazing desserts: a Jamaican Gizzada, that took me straight back to my Oupa’s koeksisters, a warming ginger cake and the dreamy dragon stout ice cream.

The entire menu was clever, inventive, and left us satisfied without that unbutton-your-jeans fullness. We were all blown away by the quality and value.

I can’t wait to collaborate with this duo again. Camborne is so lucky to have talent like this on the doorstep.

Menu highlights:

Ceviche with Tiger’s Milk – Peru

Pastelón – Puerto Rico

Cod and Chips – UK

Curry Goat, Rice & Peas – Caribbean

Korean Fried Chicken Bao Buns – Korean/Chinese

CocoBean Delights: Gizzada, Ginger Cake, Dragon Stout Ice Cream

If you missed this one, make sure you don’t miss the next one, details dropping in September ✨🍽️

🔥 What a night! 🔥

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday to celebrate #BurnsNight here at @tartanfoxpub. It was an evening to remember, and we loved bringing a taste of Chef @adamhandling’s homeland right here to Cornwall. ❤️

A huge thank you to @potluckcornwall for helping us make the evening so special. From our haggis, Balmoral Chicken, and Scotch pairings to the incredible piper recital, Address to a Haggis, and traditional poetry, it was a true celebration of flavours and tradition. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
