Wrapping up the week with a thank you to all of our local businesses and organizations that also supported this year’s Back-to-School Rally and helped us celebrate Corvallis educators!

A huge thank you to American Dream Trucking LLC, Bustlin’ Annie Co., Citizens Bank, Element Graphics, Hennessey Agency, LLC, Koontz, Elker & Associates Wealth Management, Lady Luck Vintage Market, Les Schwab 9th St. and 3rd St., Marty Fulford, Principal Broker Owner of Fullhouse Realty, LLC, Ollerenshaw Wealth Management, OCCU Foundation, Oregon State Credit Union, Powell Construction, Public Good PR, Stone Circle Properties, LLC, The Books!, and Town & Country Sotheby’s International Realty.

Your support helped us provide more than twice as many Educator Grants this year! We’re lucky to have so many businesses and organizations that care about our schools and the educators who make them great!

We had the BEST time at the Back-to-School Rally last month! Thank you to everyone who stopped by. We loved seeing the excitement throughout the building as everyone got ready to head back to school for the 2026–2027 school year. We just know it’s going to be a great year!

Over the next few days, we’ll be thanking all of our incredible community partners who helped make it possible and chose to support our Corvallis Public Schools educators as they kicked off the new school year. We’re so grateful for all of you!

A year ago, we had the honor of photographing this beautiful English cottage for Powell Construction.

Designed by Lindsay Osburn & Heidi Powell, every detail reflects their creativity, vision, and love for timeless design.

Since then, the home has been featured in Cottages & Bungalows and recognized with awards for its stunning design. We’re grateful to have documented a project that continues to celebrate Heidi’s remarkable talent, enduring impact, and legacy as a designer.

Our local business community showed up in a BIG way! Together, we awarded 40 Educator Grants at the @corvallis.schools Back-to-School Rally this week, more than double the number from last year!

Congratulations to all of this year’s grant recipients, and a HUGE THANK YOU to the amazing local businesses who made these grants possible. Your support makes a real difference for our educators and students! 💙💚

Here’s to a great school year!

My 3-year anniversary giveaways kick off tomorrow! 🎉

I look forward to these every year. They’re such a fun way for me to say thank you for following along on the wild roller coaster that is BAC and for supporting this little business of mine.

This year, I’m running TWO giveaways: one focused on my local community and one that’s open to everyone. So if you don’t meet the requirements for one, be sure to enter the other!

Thank you, friends, for all the support, encouragement, referrals, likes, shares, and cheers over the last three years. It means more than you know. 💚

And while you’re here, can we take a moment for this bathroom? 😍 I loved photographing this project for @powellconstructiondesignstudio. Go check it out, it’s near the top of my page!

Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with @powellconstructiondesignstudio to photograph their beautiful interior design projects.

From craftsmanship and design to the finishing touches, we’ve loved documenting projects that are both beautiful and intentional. We’re honored that our photographs of this award-winning Powell Construction remodel were featured in Oregon Home Magazine.

Interior and architectural photography has become one of our favorite specialties at MKP, and we’re excited to begin sharing more of these projects with you.

Assorted storage solutions in the Blue Kitchen! We collaborated to find storage solutions to get things out of sight and to provide for aging in place. 1) A pull out pantry cabinet for storing supplements, above a hide-away coffee and mixer ‘garage’ with a folding door. 2) A pantry for dried goods and cans, with deep door storage. 3) Another storage cabinet with spice rack in the door. 4) Partitioned sheet storage above the refrigerator. 5) Base cabinet drawer with heavy duty hardware for dish storage--with easy access to the dishwasher. 6) Tiered kitchen tool storage below an old-school pull-out cutting board. It's fun to provide places for all that's needed for a super functional kitchen! Built by Powell Construction Company. This Blue Kitchen is a favorite of mine. The client asked for stainless steel counters, which are balanced by the warm cabinets and trim color--and the fabulous blue tile. The major elements--the sink, range and refrigerator--stayed in place. We kept most of the cabinets, but added new ones at strategic places to increase the storage capacity of the kitchen (e.g. we added cabinets up to the patio door which also increased the footprint of the kitchen). The beautiful tile is in a "picket" shape and sold by Fireclay Tile. Another thing the client asked for was the marble windowsills, which have a simple elegance that I love. I included a shelf above the kitchen window to display beloved curios. There's a new cabinet that we added on the other side of the patio door which lends storage and serving capacity to the adjacent dining room. The cabinet is capped by a black walnut slab that we selected in person. The slab fabricator made a client live edge cutting board as a gift (that you can see in the first three photos). This was a fun collaboration with a delightful artistic client with impeccable taste and a flair for color. Built by Powell Construction Company. A kitchen that remembers where it came from,
and knows exactly where it’s going.

Nestled in the Oregon countryside,
this European Farmhouse Kitchen Remodel by Powell Construction Design Studio, stars a 40” ILVE Majestic Series
Dual Fuel Gas Range with Solid Double Oven Doors
in Glossy Black & Polished Brass Trim. ✨

Not just a range,
the anchor of the space.

Where heritage meets precision:
• Double ovens for real cooking
• Brass that ages beautifully
• Power, without the noise

Surrounded by warm whites, zellige tile,
and soft natural light,
every detail aligns.
But your eye lands here.

Because the best kitchens don’t just look beautiful.
They WORK beautifully. 😉

I’ve been thinking a lot this Women’s History Month about how grateful I am to work alongside so many incredible women. Our town is full of “wake up and get it done” women I’ve admired for years, both personally and professionally. In my day-to-day work, I’m surrounded by women who are competent, determined, intelligent, and hardworking, and I truly believe our community is thriving because of them. Feeling especially lucky lately to work and live alongside them and be inspired by their tenacity day in and day out.

Onward & upward, Corvallis!
