✨One of the main reason why I get to design letters and work on something I love was because I met wonderful mentors early on, who helped me push myself and keep exploring this field of work. I’m immensely grateful for their guidance, support and encouragement. When I was living in Mumbai, I really enjoyed teaching at various institutes and I miss interacting with students since being in Berlin. So when the lovely @solmatas and @nicoledotin of @practicatype asked if I’d be interested in conducting a Devanagari based course, I didn’t have to think twice!

I have always believed the role of education, importance of sharing knowledge and resources with a newer generation of designers are imperative to the future visual landscape we wish to see! So if you interested in exploring the world of Devanagari script, come join in on this adventure!

We love staying connected to past Practica students! Sol & Filipe talk about a sans serif he’s working on.

Here are some highlights from my final presentation @practicatype. I'm grateful to Practica's instructors and colleagues, who enabled me to make meaningful progress in my journey as a type designer .

And I’m so fortunate to have been part of this multi national class, with people from all over the world (From New Zealand, Australia, US, Brazil, to Switzerland), displaying an amazing amount of dedication, quality work and kindness towards one each another.

After diving deep into analyzing the prints and tests, I had made so far with Vine, and working with Nicole (@nicoledotin) and Sol (@tullida), I came to some new conclusions on how to approach my design space. The fourth and fifth slides illustrate that.

Focusing on Vine for general use (not the Imprint one) I worked on "filling the boxes", and creating the characters in the Thin and Black Masters (I already had a Regular one). Pausing here and there to learn more and improve my diacritics and punctuation on the Regular Master (not shown here, more about that later). And finally, linning figures were a good part of my final focus since I'm working on a project that requires these numbers.

It has been an intense three months, and I'm impressed by how much I was able to get done. But, most of all, I'm satisfied to feel more empowered and clear-minded in my type design career and on my next steps to finally releasing Vine into the world.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to post it here and enjoy any feedback as it keeps my momentum.

Thanks a lot to @estudio_versalete and @vicbogado for supporting me in this period.
Just keep swimming!
