Tasting notes from
The Belly Carries the Feet: Rosh Hashanah recipes
and recollections by Ellie Bouhadana:

The title for this cook book derives from the ancient Jewish belief that our hunger and anticipation for the next meal is what grounds us, and that our bellies are forever interlinked with community. 🤲🏽🥬

Much like the binding ingredients that form a matzah ball, this scarlet-spined, lanky-shaped tome fuses together family photographs, handwritten diary entries, and Jewish holiday recipes that pay ode to chef Ellie Bouhadana’s matrilineal lineage. I often turn to the fried artichoke and Moroccan carrots recipes—they’re super tasty and look divine on the plate, like an assembly of burnt flowers and waxy candle sticks. 🥕🥀

Peter Gunn (Ides)

Peter Gunn’s restaurant, Ides, is just a hop, skip & a jump from our flagship store in Collingwood on Smith St, and while Ides is known for its degustation menus, at the heart of Pete’s food is a focus on Australian ingredients and culture, and it’s this ethos that has found its way to his signature trio of flavours for The Piccolina Project.

Peanut Butter Butter Gelato will be layered with Dark Chocolate Ganache for a high-quality interpretation of this classic flavour combo.

Also featured is a sweet and sour pairing of Yoghurt and Honey as well as a frozen take on a classic Australian icon with a Lamington Gelato.
