I work on things you may or may not watch, travel, and ride bikes. Sometimes I get to do it all at the same time!

@mammoth_tuff Tuffer Course: P32/142 Overall

Beautiful day out in the Eastern Sierras! Course conditions were a bit more sandy and dustier. Was able to have a good start and formed a strong train once we hit Owens River Road. Those guys had too much power for my mountain biking climbing legs. Blew up and got dropped at mile 45. Throttled down to recover and just kept getting passed by other racers. Didn’t feel good. Saved some for the finish climb out to the Village which was great! 😊 All good with the result, knew this was going to out of my range of mileage and not enough climbing. Need to get back to the Long Course next year 😆 Back and hips felt good finally 🙌

The boys did so well, especially the first-timers @instantiate and Sebastian! @prestonboebel and @mathiasnapoli finished together looking good!

Next up @quickndirtymtb Filthy50! October 31st, get your costumes ready! 🎃 👻

Another year in the books✨

Just a little older, maybe a little slower but excited for another year filled with beautiful places, hard bike tours, flowers, critters and hanging out with amazing people.

Cheers to another year 🍻. Looking forward to more bikes, more camping, and exploring new places 🙏

Small collection of 34 in a nutshell.

Let's Ride's Great Descent 6-6-26 Race,
Featuring Riders rolling through the last aid station at Hahamonga Wash. Applauding everyone who started, rode, finished and all who didn't finish. That was a TOUGH race. Hope you're all enjoying the L.A. Invitational.

@letsridecyclery and LA Tourist Race got me in these mountains acting foolish. One of my favorites so far, even if my hands are cramping from all the white knuckling.

Great Descent Riders coming down after the most technical portion of the race with beaming smiles, peaceful focus and determination.

LA Tourist #4 Hell of Angeles Edition: 89mi, 11k elev. gain, 11:50… 4/4 📚 with Turtle Duck

The final LA Tourist of the season saw us go up deep into Angeles Crest from @letsridecyclery in Burbank, CA. Last second decision to go clockwise had us going up Condor Peak Trail, would rather go down, but paid off later having the opportunity to descend a new trail Adler Creek in the rain.
The boys of Whiskey Wheelers struggled to Lightning point and decided smartly to head back to the shop from Mill Creek. So my day turned into a TT for the last 2 books and make it back to the shop by 7pm! 😣

Caught up to Will @handbrewedbeer and Nathan near Pacifico Mt. for the 3rd book then took off solo for the 4th on Alder Creek. Barely made it back a couple of minutes from the cutoff. That was a hard solo effort in the cold rain 🌧️

Big thanks to @carborocket for carbs and electrolytes, felt good all day with steady nutrition that works!
@xpedousa pedals took another licking and cleats were getting caked with mud but no issues clipping in and out! 💪

Sore, banged up, and empty… feels good!

@quickndirtymtb Sagebrush Safari: P9 Expert 40+
31mi, 3:01.34, 4256’ on real mtb xc terrain!

Oh what good times at Sagebrush Safari! @prestonboebel and @zook_one made the journey out to east San Diego County for this legendary race put on again by @slasher200 and co. Course was extended by 3 miles and the Los Pinos climb was back!
Wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to line up for my favorite mountain bike race because of my back/hip from last weekend, but you just have to give it a go. So out of shape for racing so I pedaled conservatively and pushed when the pain wasn’t zapping the power into the pedals. Finished better than anticipated 😊
@preston got top 15 in Sport 40+ and the winner of the day was Sean racing the whole course on his original @fatchancebikes in the Vintage Category! Wow 🤯

Really hot this year so @carborocket Aqua+ was key to staying hydrated and electrolytes.
@kendabicycle_us Booster Pro 2.4 was money! So dusty and loose but had no issues with grip at all. @xpedousa pedals took a few good granite smacks with no issues or clipping out! Solid!
@stottsbicycles tuned the @norcobicycles Revolver FS1 to perfection, thanks boys!

Again, time to recover and see how the health status is this week. To @whiskeyoffroad or not, that will be the question 🙋

LA Tourist Race @la.tourist.race #3: 51mi, 5:28min, 4911’, 5 Books 📚

An urban LA Tourist for race #3, felt like a true tourist out there within all the real tourists as we rode through Elysian, Hollywood Hills, and Universal. @prestonboebel and @lionambience had a good party pace going clockwise to Brown Mountain first for us trying to beat the heat and get to the high point. Some sketchy city riding and a hike-a-bike down back to the @letsridecyclery shop for a much needed cold brews and amazing pulled pork sandwiches. We got a good training ride in that is for sure!

Thank you @myklenda and volunteers for an “easy” day out! Sending healing vibes for @tleigh_smith ❤️

@quickndirtymtb Sagebrush Safari next weekend! Knobby time!

Another one for the books with @letsridecyclery
We rode with faith today through many paths we couldn’t see for some of the trails were heavily overgrown on both descents and ascents.
We saw ponies, many river crossings, slick rocks, and the green rolling hill type of beauty Agoura has to offer this time of year before the weather becomes unbearably hot. Trails were lined with emerald grass, lupines, mustards and many other types of wild flowers. Our first muddy crossing was replete with the aroma of Sulfur and we soon after ran into our first set of é-bikers, before running into many different trail running groups. This was moments before I tipped over and my entire shoe came off and ended up stuck to the pedal and a runner came by to remove the shoe off my pedal. This was about 45 minutes before @eric_collide lost his clip in bolt, rendering him clipped in with one foot for the remainder of the ride, but I digress, because what really awaited us were some wonderful climbs and stunning views, followed by wet crossings. @seanrgoodwin you would’ve loved this ride especially since you did so well on Bulldog on your gravel bike. Reward at the top of the climb was handed out by @silvestr_e he awarded each one of us Jolly Rancher Gummies. @keithtneumeyer knocked it out of the park after recovering and came in strong. Soon after I recruited Tio in the Turquoise jersey to snap some pics of the group. Little did @zook_one know at this point that his hub or cassette would give out 8 minutes into the descent. Noticing the mechanical I continued to spread the good news, and shortly after I hear @ziongreenlee who isn’t too far behind. His voice, caught by the wind causing me to pull over and as it turns out we had the same mission to fulfill, stop the group and get help for Zook.
Finally, @silvestr_e @eric_collide and several other riders appear and we continue towards the most challenging part of the ride, the single track. Aside of the over grown trail that was akin to driving without being able to see the road lines or lights and relying on some guardrails, we continued and enjoyed the last excruciating climb. Thank you to @myklenda for encouraging me on that last climb

@la.tourist.race presents Let’s Gravel Race: P12/120 38.6mi, 3:37, 5400’

The inaugural Let’s Gravel Race was a hoot! Freezing temps at the start, Le Mans Start, ice puddles, ruts galore, and white capped views on a blue bird day getting our racing on. Hop, skipped, and jumped to a 12th place finish!
First “race” of the season for me and was able to push hard for the first half then started to get into conservative mode on the grueling last climb back to the venue. Had some cramping issues (crashed on the descent of rutted death) and if it wasn’t for @carborocket 333 I wouldn’t have finished as strong. Upper body was hurting too, triceps started to tighten up on the descent to the finish. Needed to get my butt kicked and certainly did. 😓
@kendabicycle_us tires hooked up well in the icy and mushy conditions. @xpedousa CXR are always my go to gravel/xc platform. Solid and strong!

Big shout out to all the volunteers out there keeping us safe, especially crossing the road, and the aid station. @troytemplin @zook_one @ohjoy_itsjoy @toc_photo and everyone else.

Thank you @myklenda for putting on this event for us to gather as a community and enjoy some good times on dirt!

Major recovery in store after this one, then mountain bike hot laps at Vail next week at @teambigbear.official Kenda Cup!

Rock Cobbler 13.0

70 miles riding through of cow-trodden farmlands, singletracks, fire roads, gutters, and bars. Definitely one of the more memorable bike races I’ve ridden!

Shoutout to the whole crew I put in a great effort to stay on the wheels of all day — @prestonboebel, @instantiate, @backbonefuzz… and to @tenkir for sacrificing his body for the ride.
