Preston Shewbridge brings the groove to Mountclear Jazz—and his résumé runs deep. Billy Currington, Jason Crabb, Natalie Grant, Cindy Morgan, Travis Cottrell, Michael Omartian, Corey Kent, and Disney.

He’s served as Music Director for Jason Crabb and performed with Chinua Hawk everywhere from the Burj Khalifa to the Dubai Opera House. We’re grateful to have his talent in this group.

Dolly & The Makers Lipscomb College! This was such a special night, Opening Night. My son Christian works very hard and loves Dolly and loves his boss @rebeccaann.seaver and they worked on this amazing exhibit with Lipscomb College. I was so proud of him that night and When Dolly came to the green room she saw me across the room and walked over and sat on the arm of the chair and started talking and catching up. She was always like that. She always made you feel like you were the greatest person in the world. We got to tour the exhibit with her, Rebecca and I will cherish those memories. We all were going with a mix of her Rockstar or Spider dress (pictured alone). My heart goes out to everyone who loves Dolly. Ive loved her as a fan, a shero, a Christian, a friend. But I pray extra hard for Rebecca who has always been there for Dolly and loves her as an entertainer and family. She is someone Dolly could always depend on so I love her even more for that. And she’s very good to my boy. #dollyparton #ripdollyparton #costuming

Today, I’m so excited to finally share our new single, “Goodness of God.”

I’m truly humbled by the amazing musicians and people I get to make music with. You can have all the ideas in the world, but it takes extraordinary musicians to breathe life into them — and every person on this single brought something uniquely their own.

And what better thing to make music about than how good God is.

Through every season, He has been faithful. I’m grateful that we get to take the gifts He’s given us and use them to make music that celebrates His goodness.

@rickpern and I had a little help bringing this tune to life…

I showed @davidfreese the guitar part one night and asked what he’d sing over it—first thing out of his mouth was the main melody.

For the chorus, I kept singing “It’s not gonna rain on my parade,” and @jcrubin76 came back with “Sun lights the way to a blue-eyed day.”

@ben.fowler.music produced and mixed it, and brought together an incredible group of musicians at @ronniesplacestudio: @fredeltringhamdrummer, @joel.key.guitar, @samhuntermusic, @daviddornmusic, @prestonshewbridge & @jessicawillisfisher.

@nathandantzler put the finishing touches on the master.

@freckledcutie020 was my first set of outside ears.
And of course, my lovely @allykayb for planting the song seed.

Grateful for all the old and new friends who helped make this one happen.

I don’t take days like these for granted.
The first session player I ever heard in Nashville was Scott Williamson, playing a horrible electronic kit at a Church. My mind was blown. I hadn’t yet moved to town and I couldn’t believe the talent I was hearing at a normal Sunday Church service.
Fast forward a couple months after I moved here with @jenhoopster and the first guitarist I ever recorded was Dave Cleveland. I had a studio on West End and my vocal booth was inside a storage room, with three doors bolted together with foam on the inside. I remember the moment I first put a microphone on his acoustic, my mind was blown. Amazing sound, and amazing playing.
We spent a day at Randy Poole’s amazing studio working for Semsen Music with John Bolin at the helm.
Unless you’ve seen it in person, it’s hard to understand that these guys will sight read a complicated, multi page chart and it sounds perfect. Our musicians in Nashville are, I believe, the best in the world. My mind is still blown, 29 years later, at the caliber of talent I get to work with. It doesn’t feel like work. We laugh so much and yet get so much done.
SO grateful.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! A few years ago I had the opportunity to put together an Irish inspired medley with my friend @thisisadamboyle and a bunch of amazing musicians to add to the celebration.
