Four Years Locked-In 💍

Not quite newlyweds anymore, but still a lot more learning and growing to do.

- Still growing in love
- Still learning each other
- Still growing as individuals
- Still learning to combat the trials of life
- Still growing as parents
- Still learning how to keep the 🔥 going

And indeed doing this with you, Tre, is the best part. ❤️

We don’t know what this year ahead brings, but we’ll keep laughing. We’ll keep holding space for one another. We’ll keep showing grace. We’ll keep turning up. 😝 We’ll keep trusting God. We’ll keep fighting for this beautiful love to last forever.

Happy Anniversary to the one that never folds! I love you Babe!🥂

Are you bougie? Like, really?

I’m definitely known for my go with the flow attitude.

However, I’m noticing now more and more that when I have the choice (and the means) I’m starting to actually be more choosy.

Now I did announce once I turned 30, auntie needs a chair at the function. I don’t care what I need to pay, I need that. 🪑

I’m in VIP so I can sit down and use the nice low-traffic restroom and bar. Idc if you see me in there or not because I’m probably tucked away in the back eating. 🤣🤣🤣

I’m also perpetually juggling a lot of hats. I no longer have any hang ups about making that easier. We working smarter, not harder now over here. I will outsource accordingly.

And this summer in particular, I had this epiphany that underneath the shallow perception of bougie lies—comfort and ease.

Essentially, I’m owning now that I don’t have to choose every hard or hold space for lack out of humility. Life is hard enough on its own whether you buying Andre or Vueve.

Buy the quality goods that last and make sense.

Enjoy your experiences.

Stop enduring the most to leave yourself with the least.

So I say all that to say, “Hi, I’m Britt. Yes, I am bougie.” And if you don’t touch any of my bills worry about yo’self! 😂

When did you know you might be a little (or very much) bougie?

I honestly struggled to make this. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions today.

My bookworm. My little bossy chef. My performer. My investigator. My pretty girl. And now my little goldfish.

I can’t believe how much you’ve grown over the past 12 months, and how much those months have grown us up a bit too.

You were exactly what we needed in navigating a really heavy, overwhelming year.

The laughs. The snuggles. The “I Love Yous.” All of it—even the tears.

Your constant wonder reminded me there’s always something more to discover in a new day.

Your growing pains taught me to stay grounded and dive into a deeper empathetic patience for the process.

You’ve made me more tender while embracing being bold through your example.

I’ve gotten to see so many fall in love with you more than a picture could ever do justice.

And you’ve allowed me to witness a new level of strength in your father @prettyboytre_19 who leads us.

It’s only been two years, but the lessons and the fond memories will truly last a lifetime even if we have to re-tell them to you later.

Happy Birthday Mommy’s Baby! I can’t wait to see what you do with the next 12 months. 🫶🏾

🧱 Brick by brick, we are building something bigger than a festival.

Through the Brick by Brick Fund, our supporters are investing in the future of this movement. Every contribution is a reminder that when we come together, we have the power to create lasting impact, celebrate our stories, and continue building a vision rooted in Black joy, connection, and collective progress.

Join us in celebrating the individuals, families, and organizations who have helped strengthen the sustainability of BLACK: A Festival of Joy and invested in the movement through the Brick by Brick Fund this year.

WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE ~$16,000 FROM OUR BRICK BY BRICK FUND THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF YOU! 🧱 🎉

Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping us continue to grow this legacy, one brick at a time! 💚

I'm looking at myself in the mirror if you're wondering why I'm not looking at the camera. But I'm starting this month off strong revisiting a peace I struggle in the past. I've learned that it's not always supposed to sound pretty in the practice room but it helps make leaps in bounds on stage when you put the work in.
