Let’s cover a few points on why teaching your dog how to behave in public is important:

1️⃣ Safety

A well-trained dog is less likely to run into traffic, approach dangerous animals, or get into conflicts with other dogs or people.

2️⃣ Respect for Others

Not everyone is comfortable around dogs. Teaching your dog to remain calm and well-mannered ensures a positive experience for everyone in shared spaces.

3️⃣ Preventing Accidents

Jumping on people, excessive barking, or aggressive behavior can lead to accidents, injuries, or even legal consequences.

4️⃣ Easier Outings

A well-behaved dog makes trips to parks, restaurants, and other public areas more enjoyable for both of you.

5️⃣ Building Social Confidence

Exposure to different environments helps your dog become more adaptable, reducing anxiety and fear-based reactions.

6️⃣Strengthening Your Bond

Training reinforces trust and communication between you and your dog, making your relationship stronger.

Ultimately, a well-trained dog is a happy dog—and a responsible owner ensures their pet is a good ambassador in any setting.

Happy training 🤍

❤️In foster, please contact the shelter if you're interested in adopting ❤️

Malloy #A2181509 is young and handsome and might be the adventure buddy you've been looking for!

He's 11 months old and in a word:

FUN

Fresh out of his kennel, he's high energy but settles after a rousing game of fetch.

Equally interested in tennis balls or treats but what he really craves is human connection. In fact, he wants to meet every human he sees.

His move is to rub across your legs like a cat. Then stop for ear scratches, then sit briefly before melting into a down for belly rubs!

A brief note for SAR, K9 trainers and sports folks: while we found him a little too ADHD during testing. He may show more focus once he's bonded with his adopter. He is incredibly biddable.

He's been in one playgroup and could use more experience with other dogs. For now, he would do best as the only dog unless you have experience introducing socially awkward dogs.

Malloy is available for adoption at:

Opening a new bag of @timberwolfpet is an aromatic experience. We've never come across a kibble that smells so good (dare say even the 💩 starts to smell good).

Timberwolf's premium packaging and resealable bags lock in the rich aroma and freshness of every meal, thanks to recipes packed with high-quality protein and beneficial herbs.
