Nouvelle identité, même volonté de faire rayonner le design d’ici ✨ La Semaine Design de Montréal dévoile son identité visuelle pour sa 2e édition, présentée par @tafisacanada du 27 mai au 4 juin 2027. Conçue par @principal.studio et inspirée par le thème Empreinte, ce qui demeure, cette nouvelle identité célèbre la vitalité du design d’ici et les traces qu’il laisse dans nos espaces, nos usages et notre imaginaire collectif. Une signature visuelle qui évolue, tout en affirmant une même volonté : rassembler et faire rayonner la création montréalaise. Montréal Design Week unveils its visual identity for its second edition, presented by @tafisacanada taking place from May 27 to June 4, 2027. Designed by @principal.studio and inspired by the theme Imprint: What Remains, this new identity celebrates the vitality of local design and the traces it leaves on our spaces, our ways of living and our collective imagination. LE GRAND PRIX / GRAND PRIZE Nous sommes ravis d’annoncer que le Prix design émergent CCC de 2026 a été décerné à @atelierfomenta, la pratique collective de Julia Arvelo, Florence Barnabé et Muriel Bentolila. Alliant l’expérimentation des matériaux à une identité visuelle distinctive, le studio s’est démarqué par sa vision prometteuse de l’avenir. Basé à Montréal, le studio a été salué par le jury pour sa démarche réfléchie face à la matérialité, à la couleur et à la création d’images, « démontrant une pratique émergente distinctive et confiante ». Bravo Julia, Florence et Muriel ! ___ We are pleased to announce that the CCC Emerging Designer of 2026 was awarded to @atelierfomenta, the collective practice of Julia Arvelo, Florence Barnabé, and Muriel Bentolila. Combining material experimentation and a distinctive visual identity, the studio stood out for its promising vision for the future. Based in Montréal, the studio was recognized by the jury for their thoughtful approach to materiality, colour, and image-making “demonstrating a distinctive and confident emerging practice.” Bravo Julia, Florence and Muriel!

WINNER/ LAURÉAT We are pleased to announce that the CCC Student Designer of the Year 2026 was awarded to @maxwellfsims a designer exploring how materials, form, and meaning shape the built environment. A recent graduate of @ocaduniversity in Toronto, Sims also studied at The Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. His work has been featured in Dezeen and Design Milk. Jury Member @_kwangho_lee praised his work for its “remarkable level of craft and finish.” Bravo Maxwell! 👏 Nous sommes ravis d’annoncer que le prix du Designer étudiant CCC de 2026 a été décerné à Maxwell Sims, un designer qui explore comment les matériaux, la forme et le sens façonnent l’environnement bâti. Récemment diplômé de l’Université OCAD à Toronto, M. Sims a également étudié à l’Académie royale danoise à Copenhague. Son travail a été présenté dans Dezeen et Design Milk. Kwangho Lee, membre du jury, a salué son travail pour son « niveau remarquable de savoir-faire et de finition ». @uqat by @principal.studio For more than forty years, UQAT has shaped the regions it serves through education, research and innovation, maintaining strong ties to Indigenous communities across its territory. As the university grew, its brand expression struggled to reflect that impact or its distinct place within Québec’s university network, and the challenge was bringing that identity to the forefront. The strategy centers on a simple premise: UQAT doesn’t just teach, it builds. Bold typography and a modular framework inspired by assembly and construction give the system consistency across formats, while a colour palette and texture drawn from the land and culture of Abitibi-Témiscamingue ground the identity in place. Mais lorsqu’on en rassemble plusieurs, d’autres liens apparaissent : des influences communes, des ruptures, des manières de composer avec l’image, la typographie et la couleur qui dépassent chaque commande individuelle.⁠ ⁠ À la Galerie FOIL, l’exposition 50 ANS, 50 AFFICHES présentée par l’ADCC réunit cinquante affiches québécoises sélectionnées par Bryan K. Lamonde. Produites au cours des dix dernières années par des studios, des designers et des créateurs de différentes générations, elles composent moins une histoire définitive du graphisme québécois qu’un aperçu de ce qui le traverse aujourd’hui.⁠ ⁠ /⁠ ⁠ A poster also tells the story of the time that produced it.⁠ ⁠ Created to announce an event, represent an institution or circulate an idea, a poster first responds to a specific context. But when several are brought together, other connections emerge: shared influences, breaks from convention, and approaches to image, typography and colour that extend beyond each individual commission.⁠ ⁠ At the FOIL Gallery, the exhibition 50 YEARS, 50 POSTERS presented by the ADCC brings together fifty Quebec posters selected by Bryan K.
