✨✨Returning home after four days in Detroit as a second-time juror for the INTERNATIONAL DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS (IDEA), organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). Where, alongside the jury panel, we reviewed hundreds of submissions from across the world in 20 categories to select the #best-in-class, representing #excellence in #design for 2026! After the intense four days, I took a moment to collect my thoughts and breathe, and all I have to say is THANK YOU! • Thank you, life, for the opportunity to be here and review design submissions that made me reflect on the role of design and the meaning of its #impact on the state of the world we live in today. • Thank you to the fellow jury members for engaging in respectful debates that expanded perspectives; for the challenging conversations that broaden visions, and for the insightful dialogues that generated new collective knowledge. This felt like a Design PhD compressed into just a few days. Thank you all for the moments that compel magic and remind me of the power of caring connections. As all jury members said it one way or another, we are returning home to our design projects full-hearted, feeling more creative, more motivated, more hopeful, and yes, exhausted but more energized. Opportunities often arise in magical moments—this was certainly one of them! • A big thank you to @idsadesign for the invitation and to the team for making this so seamless and organized. #idsaidea • And to Marc Greuther at the Henry Ford Foundation at the Museum of American Innovation for sharing historical perspectives on technological revolutions. Your insights help me put into perspective the paradoxical, humble role of design in the context of historical industrial revolutions. Yet powerful in the responsibility we hold, amid innovation, to shape the world we live in and the future we want to see! ✨ Thank you all. I already miss you🫶🏽
