Now, the conversation continues.
On November 2, We The People will gather again in Fort Lauderdale for a community rally bringing those voices and issues back together.

Five years ago Ashley Eubanks from @beautyinitiativeinc reached out to me about doing a proclamation for Menstrual Hygiene Day. The Board unanimously passed that proclamation and we were able to highlight the incredible work Ashley and her organization do to give people access to basic hygiene needs.

When students from @promote.her and @prism.fl approached me about doing more work to expand access to period products in schools a few months ago I was excited to help. We worked together to come up with a pilot program and yesterday the Board unanimously approved that program to put products in bathrooms so students don’t have to go to the nurses office.

Our students are amazing, and it was wonderful to see all the young people at our meeting yesterday tell moving stories and make compelling arguments for this program. Thank you to everyone who showed up, thank you to Ashley Eubanks for getting this ball rolling so many years ago, and thank you to my colleagues for supporting our item!

Happy National Coming Out Day! 🏳️‍🌈✨

Coming out is a deeply personal journey. Whether you are out, figuring things out, or choose not to label yourself, your timeline is entirely yours. There is no right or wrong way to be yourself.

If someone comes out to you today, be their safe space.

Research shows that having just one supportive adult or safe community network drastically reduces the risk of mental health struggles and suicide for LGBTQIA+ youth. A strong support system doesn’t just offer safety, it literally saves lives.

We want to remind you today that we are with you. We stay committed to fighting for human rights, bodily autonomy, and empowering queer and trans communities across Florida and beyond. You are not alone, and you are worthy of love, dignity, and a community that cares.

Swipe through to see how support systems change lives and to find trusted national and Florida-based resources. 👇💛

Last night’s Deep Dive with @prism.fl reminded us why we do this work. PRISM shared with our members how their student-started club became a youth-led organization reaching LGBTQ youth across South Florida. Their work in providing LGBTQ-inclusive education, sexual health resources, and an alternative safe place for our young people is unmatched. Organizing and giving our youth the tools and resources they need to grow and become our community’s future leaders is invaluable.

We also want to thank Joel Baxter, one of our legacy members, for generously opening @wiltonartworksgallery doors to us last night. While surrounded by amazing art, we got to see how generations within our communities show up for each other.

We marched for the future. Now it’s time to vote for it.
On July 3, young leaders like Maxx Fenning joined thousands of others at the We The People March for Freedom to speak about the future they want to inherit.
Because the decisions we make today will shape the world the next generation lives in tomorrow.
We asked people why they marched. Now, as November 3 approaches, we’re asking:
What does the future you’re voting for look like?
On November 2, we’ll come together again in Fort Lauderdale for the Vote for Freedom Rally.
We marched for freedom.
Now we vote for our future.
