Two days of conversations, making and exchanging ideas at the Echoes Creator Lab.

Bringing together 60+ multidisciplinary artists, alumni and creative minds, the Lab explored this year’s theme, Arteries of Life, and how art can shape new ways of seeing our relationship with nature.

From conversations on Day 1 to hands-on ideation on Day 2, artists explored concepts, materials and creative directions that could take shape at Echoes of Earth 2026. The Art Jam brought this exploration into practice, through a Bio-Leather workshop.

We wrapped it all up with an Echoes Pub Quiz, where three lucky winners walked away with tickets to this year’s festival!

MUSHROOMS OF URU: EDITION 2 IS OUT NOW!

Five years, two dozen foraging walks, countless conversations, even more spell checks, and a growing community of people willing to slow down and notice what’s beneath their feet... it’s finally here.

*Mushrooms of URU: Edition 2* is our next chapter in documenting the remarkable fungal diversity of Bengaluru’s Lalbagh and Cubbon Park.
Like Edition 1, each specimen has been hand-illustrated from scratch, each cap, gill, and stem studied and rendered by hand, so identification feels less like reading a manual and more like looking through someone’s field sketchbook.

This edition goes a little deeper, introducing 15 rarer, more elusive species that have been quietly waiting in plain sight all along.

Every foray, every photograph shared, every identification debated, every question asked, and every person who stopped to look at a mushroom instead of walking past it has shaped this book. It belongs as much to this community as it does to its authors.

Like the first edition, it’s built for the field—not the bookshelf. Carry it on your walks. Scribble in it. Spore-print on it. Get it muddy. Add your own observations. Let it grow with you.

This is one small step in #indiasmushroomrevolution a collective effort to document, celebrate, and reconnect with the extraordinary queendom of fungi across India.

What I’ve shared here is barely 10% of everything I learned on my first visit to Lalbagh. It’s since become my favourite spot in the city and the Golden Gardenia, my latest crush. 🌼

Since October 2025, I have been volunteering with @thenaturalistschool in association with @ngma_bengaluru to present #DocuDialogues. Hosted every fourth Saturday, this unique event screens films on themes drawing on nature, conservation, wildlife, ecology, climate, human-nature interactions and more, and then invites audiences into engaging conversations by piquing their curiosity. This format strives to bring nature-lovers together to enjoy films and rekindle the spark of conversation that our doomscrolling, always-online, AI-afflicted culture of media consumption has all but extinguished. As of March 28, we are six editions down, having embraced themes of human-wildlife conflict and coexistence, grasslands, trees, rivers, birds, and fungi. The audiences have been diverse, enthusiastic and involved. It’s heartening to see so many people in the city who care for the planet and the connections we share with all living beings, and yet have the grace and aesthetics to appreciate the art inherent in nature. NGMA has been a most idyllic setting for these events. Our last two or three events have been well documented, and we have had the joy of some excellent company.
