UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

“When it comes to unconditional love, this means that we love our children – and more importantly that we express our love in ways that feel loving to them – no matter what their behavior or level of performance is. Our children need to feel us saying, ‘There is no mistake, no acting out, and no failure that will stop me from loving and caring for you. I will be here for you no matter what. When our children feel that our love for them is unconditional, they relax into their best selves.”

Parents can say “no” to a behavior while still saying “yes” to the child – the child’s worth and importance, and to the relationship that holds the child’s growth and learning in love.

The way that they handle making financial decisions when their families are growing really separate success stories from horror stories.

Calming yourself when your child acts out, lashes out, or is in distress, puts some calming energy all around you.
1)Breathe deeply.
2)Think: This is not an emergency.
3)Be present; know you were triggered by something from your past, or a worry from the future. 😡🤮: #jewish #proactivejewishparenting #parenting #crownheights #kidz

These simple actions build bonds in which both people in the interaction feel a connection.
A sense of connection creates a bio-chemistry that optimizes the function of our brain. 👼🏼🤱: #jewish #proactivejewishparenting #cuddleweather #crownheights

Give information to help your child exercise self control.
Lay the groundwork for your child to develope the ability to exercise self control. (whether or not there's an adult telling her what to do. )

Instead of saying: "Stop banging those piano keys! You're going to break it." Say: "Piano keys are delicate, all they need is a light touch." 🎹🎵: #parentingwin #kidz #proactivejewishparenting #jewish #crownheights
