Coming from Hohoe to Accra for the regional inter basic school sports was already a big experience for many of our MBF kids but for some of them, it was their first time in Ghana's capital city, Accra.

@mawuvibasketball , we believe in developing young people beyond the basketball court so we made an additional adventure, we took the kids to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to experience a part of Ghana’s history, explore a new environment, take pictures, laugh, learn and simply enjoy being young.

This is the kind of impact we want to create.
Not just better basketball players, but young people with broader experiences, bigger dreams and memories that remind them that the world is bigger than their immediate surroundings.

35 Friends. 35 Years. One Purpose. 🏀❤️

Yesterday, I celebrated my 35th birthday.

Rather than receiving gifts, I’m choosing to celebrate by creating opportunities for children and communities through MBF Youth Empowerment Organization.

I’m inviting 35 friends to invest GH₵150 (or $15) towards a day of basketball, inclusion, learning, and hope.

Every contribution will help provide:
🏀 Basketball activities
🤝 Inclusive experiences for MBF children
🌱 A tree planted in your honour at our Agblekorpe Farm Project
👕 An exclusive MBF T-shirt
🧱 Recognition on our Wall of Impact

This isn’t just a birthday celebration,it’s an opportunity to leave a lasting impact together.

If you believe in the power of sport to transform lives, I’d be honoured to have you stand with us.

This is inclusion in action. The smiles, the courage, and the friendships created when every child is welcomed onto the court.

This is our All Abilities Basketball Project 2026.

Our stadium basketball court is a special facility for youth development in Hohoe, helping young people grow through basketball and community programs.

It has the potential to impact many lives, but limited access has affected our activities.

We are calling on partners and sponsors to support the finishing of our Rev. Seeger EP court as well, so we can continue empowering young people.

Together we can , help support the initiative.

Our stadium basketball facility is one of a kind in Ghana , a dream made possible through our efforts and the support of generous individuals, kind courtesy of John Peter Amewu.

Though far from the immediate community, MBF kids have always found joy, hope, and opportunity on this court.

Unfortunately, access to the facility has become difficult for almost a year now. Last Saturday, we managed to use the court again, but the future remains uncertain.

This is a reminder that with a safe and accessible court, we can do so much more for young people through basketball, education, mentorship, and community development.

MBF calling on the Local Government, Religious Leaders, Partners, Sponsors, and Supporters to come to our aid and help us secure a lasting solution for the future of these kids.

The @j_nworafoundation @ghanabasketballofficial U16 National Youth Camp was more than basketball.

This is a powerful investment in youth development, talent discovery, leadership, and future opportunities for the next generation.

That's what @mawuvibasketball stands for.

We appreciate the opportunity.

The number one confidence killer is comparison.

Too often, especially in the world of social media, we measure our lives against other people.

We see the success…but not the setbacks, doubts, sacrifices, or struggles behind it.

And when we become too focused on someone else’s path, we lose sight of our own unique gift.

Confidence grows when we collect evidence and small wins from our own journey and trust that opportunity will come at the right time.

Otherwise, you end up chasing someone else’s path, which is unsustainable because it was never meant for you.

Your journey may not look like theirs… but that doesn’t mean you’re not becoming exactly who you’re supposed to be.

Stay true to you and keep going!

This weekend, I got the opportunity to facilitate a workshop with the young girls at @squashsmarts about how to build confidence through sports.

The workshop created space for young girls and parents to have real conversations about:

✔️ confidence
✔️ pressure
✔️ comparison
✔️ self-talk
✔️ how to grow through sport

One of the most powerful parts?

Watching the girls realize they weren’t alone in what they were feeling.

And watching parents understand how much their words, reactions, and support truly shape their child’s confidence.

I know what it feels like to only feel defined by what you do instead of who you are.

To feel like your value is only tied to outcomes.

But there is a world where you can strive to become your best while also understanding that your identity is bigger than achievements.

That’s why conversations like this matter. ❤️

Grateful to everyone who showed up, participated, and leaned into the experience.

This is bigger than sports.
