A busy night for our Scouts tonight! After flag, subs and inspection, we had the troop game, as always, led by our duty patrol.
🚩
The first of our bases had the more experienced Scouts teaching their fellow patrol members how to tie square lashings. A vital part of the pioneering adventure skills badges, they constructed frames (as shown) then had a bit of a puzzle to solve.
🪢
Next up was a game of minefield, ending with some work on the One Programme. Our new Scouts are working towards their Discover badge, in advance of their investiture, with the others working on later stages.
⚜️
We're back again next Friday, before a bit of a break for mid-term!

As Scout Groups get back up and running, we’re kicking off the year with our ➡ Back Into Action ➡ resources.

Created by our @siyouthprogramme, they are designed to help Beaver, Cub, Scout, Venture and Rover sections get the year off to a great start! 🙌

The resources include ideas and supports for welcoming new members, getting small groups up and running, planning together and building towards that first adventure.

➡ Find the Back Into Action resources at 🔗 link in bio. More Programme Updates via National Mailing.

Wishing all our Scout Groups and Sections a brilliant start to the new Scouting year! 🏕️

A busy day yesterday in Dublin attending the County Commissioners Briefing and Programme Department meeting. There was great energy at both meetings, and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.

I was delighted to see the launch of the Early Years Programme name and their roadmap to the section, and I can’t wait to see what the Otters get up to as their pilot begins this month.

Finally, it was off to my own Group Camp in Burncourt to round out the weekend.
