Atlanta, join us in congratulating the graduates of AFRD Class 24-1 and our newest E911 recruits. These dedicated individuals have answered the call to serve, and we’re proud to welcome them into our public safety family. Known as the class that’s “Second to None,” Class 24-1 represents the best of what’s to come in public safety.

This was the first graduation held at the new Atlanta Public Safety Training Center—a major step forward in how we prepare those who protect our city. Together, we continue building One Safe City. Head over to our Facebook page for more amazing highlights from this graduation. #OneSafeCity #AFRD #AtlantaE911 #MovingAtlantaForward

The Progressive Firefighters of Georgia Labor Organization honored Mayor Andre Dickens with an award for his steadfast support of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD). Under his leadership, raises and pay adjustments for AFRD personnel were made, including increases of 7-15% and a 1.5% cost-of-living adjustment. The mayor also resolved over 400 longstanding pay discrepancies, amounting to $1 million, and reinstituted the promotional process, resulting in 150+ promotions. Additionally, AFRD apparatus and equipment have seen an investment of over $26 million. This recognition underscores the commitment to making Atlanta safer and stronger.
