The Eden Project: Bring Me Sunshine Garden brought Morecambe Bay to Chelsea through coastal planting, a solar-powered outdoor classroom and Shellcrete made with waste cockle and mussel shells. ⁠
⁠
Designed by Harry Holding and Alex Michaelis with young adults from Morecambe, the garden was created as much around learning and future opportunities as horticulture.⁠

After Chelsea, the garden was destined for a permanent new life at @edenprojectmorecambeofficial.⁠

Our RHS Chelsea Plant Heritage Missing Collector Garden is now at its forever home at Chester Zoo. We have had a really fun few days planting with the garden team - with special thanks to Christopher and Phil for looking after our plants so well all summer, and to Mark and his projects team for building a fabulous visitor space for the new garden, incorporating our @adam_burford_masonry stone drawers and books and the @thisisgrosvenor oak setts and uprights. Look out for our official launch in Spring 2027 🥳

Thanks too to our brilliant Chelsea landscaper Rupert @crowton_rowarth_ltd for dropping in to say hi! and to the @chesterzoo planting team of Jen, Naomi, Ellen, Shay, Liz and Rob for putting up with us.

Relocation, Relocation, Relocation 💚🌱

For me the legacy of a show garden at @rhs Chelsea Garden Show is paramount. You can have all the photo opportunities and celebs but today more than ever a garden has to have meaning and impact. And this is exactly what Patrick Clarke's Gold medal winning garden, supported by Project Giving Back for the Children's Society has achieved.

Four months on from the glitz and glamour the garden has been relocated and has put down roots, transforming the grounds of a youth centre in Leighton Buzzard, run by The Children's Society.

At a time when spaces for young people are being shut down this feels hopeful. It's a space which will nurture and help young people grow as the garden grows itself.

Celebrating the beauty in imperfection, despite the scorching hot summer the garden is surviving. It's resilient, a trait our young people need more now than ever.

I'm proud to be an ambassador for this incredible charity and as ever Mark Russell, a tremendous orator, captured the occasion in words perfectly, and brought me to tears.

The whole team involved in this garden are super stars who care deeply about their craft. 💚🌱💪

Our @thechildrenssociety garden supported by @project.giving.back from @the_rhs Chelsea 2026 has been expertly relocated by @surroundingcounties.co.uk & is now officially open for business and settling into the community. A garden full of hope and safety for young people in & around Leighton Buzzard.

At the official opening it was great to see the young people who helped me to design the garden, using the garden and making it their own. A truly heart warming and soulfully enriching moment.

This week the wonderful Kate Griffiths is leaving @hilliertrees to go onto pastures new. She was the account manager working with designers and private projects. (We’re giggling at some point in this clip!)
Kate worked with me on the RHS Peat Free Garden July 2024. By the November of that year we were out in the field selecting and having trees lifted in 2025 for the @parkinsonsuk @the_rhs show garden in 2026. Always smiling, nothing too much trouble and fantastic knowledge of trees 🌳

Hillier is a UK field grown, peat tree nursery supplying trees all over the British Isles. Their reputation is exemplary and still run by the Hillier family. It was a wonderful when the King came on the garden and took a particular interest in the Magnolia kobus Hiller supplied. And also Robert & George Hillier ex and new chairman’s of the company who were thrilled to see their work on main avenue. They have been supplying the RHS Chelsea Flower show for many years.

They were key sponsors helping us with trees, hedges, perennials and transport to the show and for the relocation.

Today, we're reminiscing about Chelsea Flower Show 2024, specifically the beautiful "Freedom From Torture Garden: A Sanctuary for Survivors" 🌿

This is a safe, therapeutic space for survivors of torture, where they can connect to nature and spend time together, building new connections and engaging in therapy sessions. The garden has now been relocated to the Freedom From Torture HQ in London.

We are proud to have supported this garden by supplying Durlston Stepping Stones, Langton Feature Stones, Somerset and Dorset Buff, Yorkshire Gold Selfbinda, and Durlston Walling.

I have felt particularly proud to be a Trustee of Project Giving Back this week as the team completed the Three Peaks Challenge for Trussell , the UK’s foodbank and anti-poverty charity. The team sent us photo updates along the way and despite some very inclement weather, meaning they were not rewarded with the promised views, they climbed the UK’s three highest peaks, one after the other, and somehow managed to keep smiling!

They have a target of £10,000 and are so nearly there. If you’re able to sponsor them and help get them over the line, the donation link is in my bio. Thank you.
