Following a sold-out February run at Chapel Theater, Project Burlesque returns this Halloween with The Burlesque Witch Project—a spellbinding celebration of sensual dance, radical body liberation, and bewitching performance. Forged through a non-hierarchical collective, every core member brings their own magic, artistry, and voice to the stage. Together, we cast a show that celebrates sensuality as resistance, reclaims pleasure as power, and defies patriarchal, capitalist, and heteronormative control. This Halloween, answer the call and embrace the untamed. The Burlesque Witch Project awaits— the witching hour is upon us and the spell begins when you arrive! 🎤: Project Burlesque: the Burlesque Witch Project 📍: The Alberta Rose Theatre 📅: October 18th, 7pm

The instructor asked if anyone wanted to twerk. Apparently, my answer was yes. 😆 Not only did I get on stage for the first time at @pulsepdx, but it was also to a brand-new song. 10/10 would make that impulsive decision again. Everyone should check out Brit’s Spicy Dance class on Sundays at 11:15! The energy in her classes is absolutely powerful, welcoming, and fun. And hey… you might even end up twerking on stage. 💃🍑 Thanks, @projectburlesque , for creating a space where people can step outside their comfort zones and have a blast doing it 🫰🏻✨🔥

•3.5 years ago, at nearly a decade of losing touch with dance training & performance, I found myself drawn to instructor @nickitaylor111 ‘s classes - a catalyst for reigniting my interest in this skill//art-form. Fast forward to the last few months…a full-circle moment - being offered the opportunity to perform in a show that featured choreography from those very classes that drew me back in. What a joy it was to be a part of this project... To connect with kind, luminous creatives - working together to produce this meaningful moment… To finally give myself grace after years of regret for not investing in dance during my adulthood as much as I wished I had… To meet myself where I am, and value the ability to move and express myself in the ways that I can. Here’s to continuing to find the spaces and the people that support personal growth, and expressions of our most authentic selves. And to be reminded that while not all spaces are formatted for all: ‘to dance is to be a dancer’…and dance (in some form or another) is for everyone♥️

Awkward? Silly? Sexy? Sweaty? Doesn’t matter. Dance = instant joy. Movement is my medicine and my reminder it’s about how I feel, not how I look. 💃✨🤸
