At last week’s 14th Annual Project Focus Gala, we had the privilege of hearing from one of our Focus Day School students and their family as they shared their experience at FDS and the impact our school has had on their lives.

We are incredibly honored to play a small part in the many stories that make up our students’ journeys. Hearing these firsthand experiences inspires us to continue reaching more families, creating meaningful opportunities, and making a lasting impact throughout the Tampa Bay area.

We have decided to postpone our Parent Seminar for this evening, due to the ongoing inclement weather we are experiencing in our area. We have families that come from all over the Tampa Bay region and various places are experiencing flooding already. The rescheduled Parent Seminar date will be communicated out soon!! Please keep a watch out for the new date.

Please Note: we are actively monitoring Hurricane Isaias to determine if a school closure will be necessary for tomorrow. Please keep in mind that we take into consideration that we have families and staff traveling from many regions of Tampa Bay to get to Focus Academy. We will provide an update regarding the school day tomorrow, Friday 10/09, later this afternoon.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!! Today, Focus Staff got to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the best way possible- with a sampling of traditional Hispanic foods and drinks made by staff!

Take a look at some of the amazing class projects that Middle and High Schoolers did in PE!

The Middle Schoolers project was to create a first aid kit with essential items that could be used for minor injuries.

The High Schoolers project was to create a poster about either environmental or sports safety.

Focus Academy awarded our September Character Award for Honesty at Morning Meeting today! We are so proud of these students for consistently telling the truth, acting with integrity, and doing the right thing- even when it is difficult or no one is watching. In true Focus Academy fashion, we celebrated with a dance party!
