This week is Loneliness Awareness Week marking 10 years of giving loneliness a voice.

And I couldn’t let it pass without being honest.

I’m 47. An empty nester. And I was lonely. I just didn’t know it.

Instead of sitting with the feeling I went to over 50 networking events. Told myself it was about business. But the truth was I was searching for connection.

You can have your family around you, your girls in the group chat, a whole social life on paper and still feel unseen.

But here’s what I found on the other side. Not just contacts. Friends. Collaborators. People who see me for who I am, champion me and push me to think bigger. A space where my ambition didn’t feel strange.

Loneliness is not weakness. It is human. And it can affect anyone.

Not only did The Music Takeover organise a brilliant event, they chose the perfect venue and location.

Everything about this event was my cup of tea ☕️

Informative, fun, engaging, interactive and inspiring.

Editors, filmmakers, record labels, producers, project management professionals, creatives, game developers, actors, strategists… all under one roof.

Usually, industries stay in their own lanes.
