A little guide to independent bookstores in Berlin for Berlin Art Week.

📍 Motto Berlin
A key node in Berlin’s independent publishing scene, combining artist books and experimental editions with its own distribution network.

📍 Pro qm
A theory driven bookstore where architecture and design meet urban politics, critical practice and contemporary cultural debate.

📍 do you read me?!
Known for sharp international curation across art publishing and graphic design, with an especially strong independent magazine selection.

📍 Bildband Berlin
A specialist photobook store focused on independent presses and self published work, with a real eye for photography as bookmaking.

📍 Zabriskie
A countercultural bookstore where art and activism meet alternative knowledge, with plenty of publishing that sits outside the mainstream.

📍 Berlin Photobook Distribution
More publishing project than conventional bookstore, working across publishing and distribution to foreground independent photobook practices.

📍 Neurotitan
A DIY leaning shop and gallery rooted in Berlin’s alternative scene, with zines and illustration at the center.

Saving these for Berlin Art Week ✦

Sounds obvious. We had to learn it the hard way: No amount of visual polish can compensate for disappointing food or a bad guest experience. 😜
