The advice is always “start a side hustle.” Never what, never how much, never who’s actually going to pay you.

When I started freelancing in 2019, I figured most of it out through trial and error. I undercharged for services I should’ve priced higher. I looked for clients in places they were never going to be. I spent months guessing at things someone could’ve told me in an afternoon.

Since then I’ve coached 50+ women through starting a service business, and here’s what I know. You don’t need a big idea. You need something small that people near you already pay for, priced like you mean it.

That’s what’s inside. 39 ideas, local and online. Real pricing. Outreach scripts. And a 14-day plan so you skip the years of guessing I did.
DM me MONEY and I’ll send you the link.

Different by December isn’t happening in a quiet season of my life.

I’m trying to get back in shape while raising a toddler.

Trying to get out of debt.

Trying to build a business that actually changes our life.

Trying to be present in my marriage.

Trying to make friends.

Trying to take care of my mental health.

Trying to find my way back to myself while still being responsible for approximately 47 other things. 😂

So no, most days I do not have an uninterrupted hour, perfect energy, a spotless house and an inspirational playlist waiting for me.

Sometimes I have 20 minutes.

Sometimes I’m tired.

Sometimes somebody is melting down.

Sometimes I’m the somebody. 😭

But I’m starting to understand that getting back to myself probably isn’t going to happen after life finally becomes easy.

It has to happen inside the life I have now.

Twenty minutes counts.

The walk counts.

Picking the weights back up counts.

Trying again after I disappear for a few days counts.

I don’t need to execute this perfectly.

I just want December-me to have evidence that I stopped waiting for the perfect conditions to start taking care of her.

Different by December. One very imperfect choice at a time. 🩷

I don’t have a lesson or a hopeful ending for this one. I’m just having a really hard time right now.

Behind every business owner is a life that most people never see.

The client calls.
The school pickups.
The late nights.
The moments of doubt.
The moments of celebration.

Being a mother and an entrepreneur means carrying a lot at the same time.

What I love about spaces like this is the reminder that none of us are doing it alone.

These women are building businesses, raising families, supporting their communities, and continuing to show up even when the journey isn't easy.

There's power in being surrounded by people who understand both the ambition and the responsibility that comes with it.

To every mom building something meaningful while raising a family, I see you.

As entrepreneurs, we spend so much time focused on strategy, growth, and execution that it's easy to forget one of the most valuable business assets isn't a tool or a framework.

It's people.

The conversations that happen in rooms like this often lead to new ideas, unexpected opportunities, partnerships, and friendships.

Every founder's journey comes with challenges that most people don't fully understand. That's why finding community matters.

Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn't another course, book, or business plan.

It's a conversation with someone who's walking a similar path.

What's the most valuable connection you've made through networking?

I wanted to be a Broadway performer.

Life said, “Best I can do is motherhood, survival mode, and original workout songs about your own big back.”

Fair enough.

But honestly? This is part of my Hot Calm Paid era.

Not the polished version where I magically become a new woman overnight.

The real version.

The one where I’m tired of feeling uncomfortable in my body.
Tired of saying I’ll start Monday.
Tired of waiting until I feel motivated.
Tired of acting like wanting to feel hot, strong, healthy, and alive again is shallow.

It’s not shallow.

It’s self-respect.

And right now, my Tiny Savage Promise™ is movement.

Not a dramatic 90-day transformation.
Not a punishment workout.
Not me bullying myself into a body I hate.

Just proof that I’m done abandoning myself in the area that’s been screaming for my attention.

Sometimes the receipt is a 30-minute workout.

Sometimes it’s a 7-minute walk.

Sometimes it’s a made-up song before exercising while your toddler laughs at you off camera.

Still counts.

That’s the point.

Hot = body, energy, health, movement, physical self-respect.

And mine is getting receipts now.

If you’re tired of restarting your life every few months and want to stabilise one area at a time, comment STABLE.

We are not restarting again.

We’re singing through it, sweating through it, and staying this time.

Disciplined Delusion isn’t about bypassing your real life to chase a fantasy. It’s not toxic positivity, manifesting or praying your life to a better place. It’s about not pretending the hard stuff isn’t happening.

It’s a framework. And it has three parts: Delusion, Design, and Devotion.

But here’s what I’ve learned, and what today reminded me. None of those three parts work if your foundation is actively destabilizing you. You cannot design a delusional life while your body is in survival mode. You cannot stay devoted to anything while your nervous system is scanning for threats. You cannot build the life you want from a floor that is still shaking underneath you.

Stabilization isn’t the enemy of the dream. It’s the prerequisite.

So before Delusion. Before Design. Before Devotion. There is the Survival to Stable Protocol.

Four things to hold onto when everything feels like too much:

Get clear on your identity. Not your goals. Not your to-do list. Who you are becoming. Because you cannot build a new life while you’re still performing the old one.

Pick one area of focus. Your body. Your nervous system. Your finances. Not all three. One. You cannot execute 15 priorities at once and pretending otherwise is exactly what keeps you stuck.

Take daily actions toward stabilizing that one thing. Small. Repeatable actions. Not the overwhelming version that requires a perfect life to execute. The version that works on the worst Tuesday you’ve had all month.

Do not give up on the dream. The real one. The embarrassing one. The one sitting in your notes app. Protect it even when everything else is on fire. Especially then.

That’s the foundation. That’s what makes everything else possible.

And the instability almost always lives in one of three places. Your Hot. Your Calm. Or your Paid.

Which one needs the most attention right now? 👇

If you’re ready to stop surviving and start stabilizing, comment STABLE below and I’ll send you the link to the Survival to Stable Protocol guide. The four steps that get you off the floor and onto solid ground so you can actually start building the life you want.

Because so far?

I just got eye bags, trust issues, and emotional support iced coffees.

So… we’re getting our shit together.
Respectfully.

You know back in February when I said I was relaunching into adulthood because life had been absolute turdcicles?

Well… it’s June. So here’s the brutally honest update.

Some things are better.

Some things are still really shit.

I’m still a saddie anxious baddie™️. Still unemployed. Still figuring out what rebuilding a life actually looks like when stress and anxiety have been kicking my arse (Jennifer Coolidge voice: “these gays… they’re trying to murder me” except replace gays with cortisol 🤣).

BUT.

I have one paying client — which is one more than I had then.

I started a GLP-1 in April to help with chronic inflammation and I’m down 7 pounds ayyyyy. Tiny wins. We celebrate tiny wins around here because adulthood is ghetto.

My blood pressure is still chaotic. My nervous system still thinks we’re in a Victorian tragedy. But I’m learning something really important:

You can’t rebuild your dream life while your nervous system is on fire.

First, you stabilise.

Then, you rebuild.

And annoyingly… it takes time.

If you’re in a season of “my life feels like a flaming bin but I’m trying” — hi, welcome, same.

Comment STACK if you want the email I’m dropping this week about how I’m rebuilding my life from the ground up (without pretending to be a beige productivity influencer) and how you can too 🥰🤗

This past week was Black Maternal Health Week and I’ve been sitting with whether to share this. I decided I had to.

When I was pregnant with Emeri, I was high risk for most of my pregnancy. What started as a late night ER visit turned into five days hospitalized, three doctors every two weeks, an emergency C-section at 36 weeks, and 16 days watching my 3-pound baby fight in the NICU.

I almost became part of the statistic. Black women are 3x more likely to die during childbirth ,and I lived close enough to that number to understand why it exists.

We made it. But we made it because I advocated for myself, my family advocated for me, and my doctors actually listened. That should not be the exception.

For too many Black women, being heard is the thing that saves your life ,and not enough of us get that.

Swipe through. Share if it moves you. And if you’re pregnant or postpartum and something feels off :say it loudly, say it again, and don’t stop until someone listens.

Emeri and I are here. And I’ll keep telling this story as long as it needs to be told.
🖤

I’ve been carrying a lot. Real grief. Real financial pressure. Real health concerns. Real spiritual struggle. Real exhaustion from building something while all of that is happening simultaneously.

I’m tired. I spent most of my birthday crying. I never expected life to be like this and although I’ll never stop striving for a better life sometimes it’s okay to just admit and feel like you’re just not okay.

I’m not posting this for sympathy just to let other people know depression is real, struggling with your faith is real.

Sometimes content for the sake of content wipes out the realities of human struggles and I just cannot be someone who acts like I don’t struggle to make people comfy.

If you’re in crisis and you’ve also felt that you don’t want to be here anymore Please talk to someone today. Not about the business. About how you’re really feeling.

If you’re in crisis right now please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. They’re available 24 hours a day and they will listen.

Okay.

Pause the existential crisis for a second.

250 of you on Instagram.
100 of you on YouTube.

In less than a week.

Which tells me something important:

I am not the only former gifted kid who hit adulthood and thought,
“Wait… where is the syllabus?”

The comments.
The DMs.
The “I’m relaunching too.”
The “I’ve never heard someone say it like this.”
The “I thought it was just me.”

That’s why this matters.

This isn’t about numbers.

It’s about realizing there’s a whole group of smart, capable people, especially women, quietly rebuilding their lives and thinking they’re doing it alone.

You’re not alone 🫶🏾

Apparently we’re all relaunching into adulthood… and I love that for us. 💅🏽

I also have some really cool things launching soon to help support your relaunch with actual structure, not just vibes and I’m so excited to share them with you.

I’m so glad you’re here. 🩷🥺

We’re staying this time.

P.S. This totally counts as my workout right? 😂

Everyone says they want peace.

What they actually want is relief.

Relief from chaos.
Relief from restarting.
Relief from feeling behind.

But relief doesn’t create stability.

Structure does.

Stability is built when:
• you keep one promise even when you’re bored
• you downshift instead of quitting
• you stop redesigning your whole life every 3 weeks
• you treat your behavior like data, not drama

The women who look “calm” didn’t wake up that way.

They stopped negotiating with themselves.

They stopped making motivation the requirement.

They built systems that survive bad moods.

That’s the difference.

You don’t need a new personality.

You need follow-through that holds when the vibe drops.

That’s what we build around here.
