This piece captures that sense of wonder, featuring many amazing native Portland flowers and plants! Thank you, Harold Goldstein & Carol Streeter, for your generosity and for supporting this crow and the arts in our community!

The trail runs through the end of the months so hurry and see them all before they fly away!

For close to 15 years, I've had the incredible privilege of photographing the arts here in the Pacific Northwest.

Theater, dance, opera, orchestra, choir, live music... I've been invited into some pretty remarkable spaces, and trusted to capture the work of an awful lot of talented people.

As both a photographer and a musician, this work means a lot to me. I know how much time, heart, collaboration, and sheer work goes into creating something that may only exist on a stage for a few nights. Being able to help preserve that work, and help arts organizations share it with the world, is something I'm genuinely grateful for.

Looking back through these photographs while putting this video together was a pretty wonderful reminder of just how lucky I've been.

And I'm looking forward to what's next.

If you're part of an arts organization in the Pacific Northwest and need photography that understands both the art and the people behind it, I'd love to work with you.

With the Global Improvisation Initiative Symposium taking place in Lincoln Hall last week, the entire building was absolutely buzzing with creative energy and collaboration. Hallways, performance spaces and classrooms on every floor were filled with scholars and artists who traveled to Portland to learn about the art of improvisation. Workshops, performances, and networking sessions kept the attendees engaged the entire four days, and our own PSU Impro Ensemble played a huge role. Read more about this unique event, co-organized by Theater Arts professor Theresa Robbins Dudeck, in the story by Brett Campbell of @artswatch at the link in our bio!

What’s Up Mi Gente Creativa!!

We are Chicanos On The Rise and there’s never been a better time to be us, cause we are the storytellers the world has been waiting for.

The Mask I Wear’ is a powerful solo show that explores the internal struggles of a Latino actor caught in the cycle of typecasting and cultural stereotypes. Through these character shifts, Jonathan reflects on his own journey, facing the pressure to conform while yearning to break free.

Jonathan, we are so proud of you as you represent nuestra raza on the center theatre stage my friend. You are such a talent and needed voice and presence here in the Pacific Northwest and we all can’t wait to see what new stories you bring to life next.

We are so very grateful to have gotten the opportunity to collaborate with actor Jonathan Hernandez for his one-man show, “The Mask I Wear”. We are also blown away by the amazing support he received from his local Latin business community, @2_hermanos_bakery , @blendspdx , @villas_market , @nayartaqueriapdx .

A huge Shout Out! to everyone who shared from their experience and what they took away from the show.

Ways you can support Jonathan:
1. Follow him @jdhernandez_actor
2. Share his event posts
3. Attend his theatre shows

This was our stage, and we the players, played it beautifully.

Thanks you to everyone who made this show possible, this is one of the best cast and crews I’ve ever worked with and the sheer commitment and talent on display was constantly inspiring. I think it is a very brave, remarkable, and important thing to take a classical story like this and truly explore what it can mean to us today. Love to all of you, what an incredible cast of actors I got to work with and learn from <3
