not disposable or temporary, it is a catalogue of work that is intelligent and finished with high craft from materials that last life time.

Nice to see ‘Submerged Solace’ featured on the wall in Public Record’s next exhibition of Iza Lozanos work. Marilyn Sainty’s Cocktail chair in the foreground and Rachel Long’s work on the left

Stoked our little carport / office / woodshed / new front door was selected as a finalist ( Small Project ) for the @thisishere.nz awards. So much going on for such a small build. We love it.

This is ‘Submerged Solace’. A lot of my work is very difficult to photograph because it is quite dark and has so many layers. It takes a good camera and eye to be able to draw out the colours in the layers to create a good photograph. I have been lucky enough to get some beautiful photos of my work from Public Record by Masami Ono who has captured my work and been able to celebrate the textures and colours #texture #layers #colour #immersion #depth

Yuka O'Shannessy has made a bold move taking her much admired small-but-perfectly-formed arts and crafts store Public Record, which up until a few weeks ago had its niche place on one of the most and characterful spots on the Ponsonby strip, nestled between Real Time, Curio Noir and Bodega, to Trish Clark's recently vacated gallery up on the semi-industrial Great North Rd, sharing walls with autocare centres. Painted black through its ground floor in the old space there wafted incense and something sonically calming, beautiful ceramics, covetable jewellery, edgy clothes and various objects placed stylishly throughout to Yuka's refined Japanese aesthetic sensibility. The new space is comparatively enormous, white-walled and off the beaten track. I wish her well in this courageous venture! @public_record_ @yukaandtristan

A new era for @public_record_ 🖤 we had a chat with @yukaandtristan ahead of her opening evening.

Public Record Gallery brings together a considered programme of artists and works that invite you to pause, look closer and see things differently.

The inaugural exhibition, Deep Field, presents an incredible body of work by Ōtautahi artist Carmel Pollock, alongside Study of Trajectory, a beautiful sculptural work by Ben Pearce. So many more wonderful artists within the space.

A new era for @public_record_. Popped in to see my friend @yukaandtristan the other day, at the new home for her gallery on Great North Road. From K’rd to Ponsonby and now a space four times the size of the last one, I have so much admiration for this women and her growth mindset for her business. A true champion of the creative arts in Aotearoa. Go visit — the inaugural exhibition of ceramics by @carmelpollock__studio is worth getting up close for a proper look. Congratulations on another milestone Yuka. 🤍

Thrilled to be in New Zealand, working with a brilliant team and client to build two ambitious new properties. In awe of the land and energised by the possibilities of new collaborations, we’re looking forward to immersing ourselves in this fresh context and getting to know all this beautiful country has to offer.

Watch this space(s).
