This fitness session has turned out to be my last one. I had learned lot of things abaout fitness from Pushker Patil Sir and Punit Sir. I hope to continue learning in this manner in the future as well. Thank you very much @mumbaicricassoc .

Warm ups become a ritual before every game, and a lot of planning happens behind the scenes that most people never see.
As an S&C coach, I used to plan this together with the team physio, and a lot goes into it before the players even step onto the ground.
First, we look at the logistics.
How far is the ground from the hotel?
How long will the bus take?
What time does the head coach want the players ready?
From that final reporting time, we backtrack the entire schedule.
Warm-up timings are shared in the team group beforehand so players know exactly when to report.
If time allows, we include 5–10 minutes of meditation to help players switch on mentally.
Players also have personal warm-up routines based on their individual needs, injury history, and role.
Then comes a short team game something fun but competitive to bring the energy and vibe up.
After that, a team talk, and finally the structured team warm-up before the match begins.

Working with the Under 19 setup at Mumbai Cricket Association, time management was always a key factor. Between skill practice, recovery work, travel, and academics, gym windows were structured and efficient. Every minute needed direction and purpose.

The approach was simple. Align the workout flow with intent and collaboration.

With limited time, the goal was not to add more volume, but to improve alignment.

Clear structure
Clear vision
Open communication
would like to sincerely acknowledge @punitdavept for the constant support and coordination throughout the season. From rehabilitation planning to load monitoring and day to day player readiness, the collaboration between physiotherapy and strength and conditioning was always smooth and player first.

Grateful to work alongside someone who always kept athlete welfare at the center of every decision.
I am equally grateful to the senior coaches, mentors, and colleagues who guided me throughout this journey. Their trust, feedback, and experience played a significant role in shaping both the program and my growth as a coach.

When I first walked into the setup of the Under-19 boys at the Mumbai Cricket Association, I didn’t see athletes.

I saw:
– Fast bowlers chasing speed
– Batters chasing selection
– Boys carrying expectations bigger than their age

And I knew one thing
This year wasn’t about lifting heavier.
It was about lasting longer.

We started with the basics.

Not flashy drills.
Not exhaustion sessions.

Just:
Movement quality.
Strength foundations.
Aerobic base.
Teaching them how to train.

Then came pre-season.

Speed.
Power.
Role-specific loads.
Repeat sprint conditioning.
Preparing them for long spells, long days, long tournaments.

And then reality hit.

Travel.
Back-to-back matches.
Niggles.
Selection pressure.

That’s when I truly learned:

• Periodisation looks beautiful in Excel.
But real cricket demands flexibility.

• The strongest fast bowler is the one who stays available.

• Recovery is a performance skill.

• Communication with coaches and physios is as important as squats and sprints.

The biggest lesson?

Sometimes the best session is the one you cancel.

This year wasn’t about making them tired.

It was about keeping them ready.

Grateful for the trust.
Grateful for the growth.
Still learning. Always building.
