Today, August 31, marks three years since we closed Earl’s Bike Shop. On September 1, 2023, we started Get Rad ATL.

The store's mission statement was ‘We inspire people to use cycling to improve their lives,’ and it remains true today. We’ve been privileged to be part of many people’s lives, and we continue to treasure all the new relationships that have been formed.

My heart feels full right now as I reflect on all the adventures and memories we've shared, and I am excited to keep building this wonderful community. I can only hope we've added some positivity to your life. Forever and always, much love to you all. 💜

there is a climb in colombia that changes climate four times before it lets you stop.

el sifón. summit above 13,500 feet. 55.64 miles and 14,006 feet to get there. @pwnela and @wovickers rode it.

Colombia was therapy

The plan was Alto de Letras — the old longest climb on earth.

Colombia had other plans.

On day one of our third Colombia trip, a serious earthquake hit the region. Our thoughts are with everyone affected. Later, a landslide closed the road
we’d planned to climb.

We had no map for what came next. We told the group straight, and everyone said yes anyway.

The alternative: Alto del Sifón — Colombia’s highest paved road, and the real longest climb on earth. Four climate zones, a sea of frailejones, lagoons that looked like pieces of heaven, a volcano waiting at 4,100 meters.
It never felt like it was going to end. I wish it hadn’t.
The next day, the Vuelta a Colombia climbed the same road as their queen stage. We got there first.

Alto del Sifón is now a permanent stop on CLIPPED Colombia — grateful for a crew that rolled with it, and thinking of the communities still rebuilding

Colombia really knows how to make a ride unforgettable.
We came here to ride Alto del Sifón — one of the longest paved climbs in the world — climbing from the Colombian tropics all the way toward Nevado del Ruiz.

And then the earth decided to join the adventure. 🌋

A 7.4 earthquake hit Colombia this week, with the epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, and the effects felt across the coffee region. Suddenly, mountains, roads and the ground beneath your wheels feel very different.
Colombia is wild. Beautiful, unpredictable, and absolutely worth riding.
