Every year @orleanshousegallery selects artists for its Emerging Artists Programme, and this year all three of them are MA Contemporary Art Pratice graduates: @malgorzata_lisiecka, @mujtaba__asif and Paola Estrella @py_star🔥 🔥 🔥

The programme supports emerging artists in the first 10 years of their careers. And each artist will present a solo exhibition at the gallery between autumn 2026 and spring 2027. Paola Estrella's exhibition is the first, Deep Time Currents is open now at the gallery until 29 November 2026.

Deep Time Currents is a new iteration of Paola's ongoing project The Cenote Ring, bringing together painting, moving image, sound and installation to explore deep time, ecological fragility and the relationships between bodies, water and the earth.

We are happy to present Paola Estrella as one of our artists for our Booth at @swabartfair these next days from the 8th-12th of October.

Paola has veen working on a new body of work, relating water as portals to other worldy spiritual realms.

Paola is a A Mexico-born, London-based artist working across painting, performance, video and installation, who uses speculative fiction to bring ecology, spirituality and technology into relation.

As we prepare to launch the final chapter of 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 this week, we revisit ‘𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆’.

Ethereal Maison @ethe_rrealm is an interdisciplinary, intersectional curatorial platform and nomadic gallery founded in March 2024 by Yaiza Hernández Escobar, working through a queer and feminist lens to explore world-building, digital and third spaces in dialogue with historically and culturally charged sites. Its process-led, artist-run, hospitality-based practice has included Ethereal Maison Gallery in Bethnal Green E2 0PG London (via Arebyte Guardianship, until October 2025), plus collaborations with the London Architecture Festival, Pushkin House, Benjamin Franklin House, 180 The Strand, Goldsmiths UOL, and a six-month, 20-plus-event residency at Cramer Street Gallery in Marylebone Square, London. In Venice, it now partners with 10ZeroOne gallery at the Arsenale Biennale, and with CREA Venice and COLD magazine planning for a major exhibition in November 2026.

Fluid and unbound, water seeps through cracks, crosses boundaries, and transforms whatever it touches, existing not as separate but as part of all living matter. “Interstitial waters” brings together Spanish and British artists exploring inhabitation through permeability and connection rather than separation, using water as metaphor and material to dissolve divides between body/landscape, interior/exterior, memory/present. Through installation, video, sculpture, performance, and participation, the works probe interstitial spaces where categories blur and new communities form. Sacralising space, through attention, slowness, and ritual rather than institutional spirituality, the project engages feminist and queer narratives, framing the exhibition as a temporary, shared practice of coexistence.

Performances will close with a DJ set by @secretluvvr

Paola Estrella is a London-based artist from Mexico whose practice spans painting, video, installation, and performance, with speculative fiction at its core. She explores the intersections of imagination and perception,drawing on transcendent experiences and the entanglements between the pictorial, technology, mythology, andecology. Through hybrid forms, she investigates how embodied experience, belief systems, and ecological worldviews shape the ways we construct and disrupt our realities.

We’re delighted to open our 2026-27 Emerging Artists Programme with Paola Estrella: Deep Time Currents @py_star

From 2 October 2026, the Stables Gallery will be transformed into a spatial environment where large-scale paintings, moving image and an evolving soundscape respond to one another. Rather than presenting nature as a static landscape, Deep Time Currents proposes a world in constant movement, where memory, geology and imagination flow together.

Inspired by the cenotes of the Yucatán Peninsula - natural sinkholes connected through vast underground rivers - Paola’s work moves between deep time and the present, exploring cycles of creation and collapse, ecological fragility, and the interconnected relationships between bodies, water and the Earth.
